9. I have a mental illness and I hope this comes to pass.
I don't have and don't want a gun. I don't care if anyone else has a gun for legal means and are mentally stable but I want to be kept safe from myself. I do have sound judgment 99.9% of the time but when I get into a suicidal state (from severe depression) I don't want access to things that could kill me. I want safety. One thing less - it would help me.

Well, studies do show that conservative republicans are a heck of a lot happier than liberal democrats, who seem depressed most of the time. So this might explain why democrats don't want access to guns...to lower their chances of committing suicide.

When I stop and think about it, most of the liberals I know are always on meds for depression, and complaining about everything. And the conservatives that I know are relatively happy and easy going. Never thought of that until just now, then spent ten minutes or so comparing the 2.

Rush did a memorable piece on how conservative republicans are more depressed and overweight than their lib counterparts. He blamed in it upon stress from actually giving a shit, and worrying about the future of the country - wearing it as a badge of pride.

They also claim republicans are "not complaining, and instead taking practical action to improve one's situation"... and no offence, but libs (whiny bitches in their own right) tend to be outshined by the whole "i'm a victim" mentality from the GOP in the last 2 years. how many times can a person be offended by a word from a pvt conversation?

I've never understood the whole liberal opposition to owning a gun. Yes, I think there should be thorough background checks and possibly even a psychological profile of some sort. But what exactly does a liberal expect someone to do if their home is invaded by thugs ? Say something like this ?...."Hi fellas, you appear to be from the inner city and I can certainly empathize with your plight since society has been so unjust to your people. Please feel free to take all my stuff..you can even rape and sodomize my wife if you'd like. I don't own a gun, of course because like all ridiculous liberals I believe one should simply let themselves be robbed and murdered. God knows.. me being a white man, I certainly owe you and your friends for all the years of abusing your civil rights. Anyone who tries to defend themselves is only being a racist." Of course, the Bro's would shoot him anyways.

I've yet to see one person - lib or otherwise - who has experienced a violent crime who is still against personal ownership of firearms.

I'm not going to read much into one loony who things about offing himself. That's not much of a valid case for banning guns lol... Dude wants to do it, there are several hundred ways he could go about it. He's just using his issues to attack the 2nd... There is no weight behind that.

Last week, when I went to do the class for my concealed weapons permit, there were several thuggish looking guys there with Do rags and underwear sticking out of the pants.. who could barely string an intelligable sentence together. So...it is kind of scary to see some of the types that will be legally allowed to carry a weapon. I heard one of these guys on their cell phone afterward saying, "Yo, yo..guess what sucka..I'se gonna be strapped and I'se gonna be legit."
