Title: Cheating on a diet.
Post by: Lundgren on February 04, 2011, 06:20:37 PM
Alright I`m trying to get lean, for those that are good at it what`s worst cheating a little often, or cheating bad once in a while.

I wanna eat a pizza, but I`m scared, or maybe a tiny ass bowl of cereal. The cereal just makes me depressed and even more hungry, the pizza will make me happy it is friday after, but it does mean another day of dieting which  I don`t wanna do.  ???

Eat good and strict 6 days out of the week then one day a week have yourself whatever the hell you want. This doesn't mean eat fast food all day, it just means have fun that day and eat what you want.

Fixed for idiots who might misunderstand you

Thanks. If only people would realize how little the composition of your diet has to do with how you look.

I usually eat clean 6 days a week. On the 7th day I eat to satisfy my taste without forgetting who I am, and what I'm about.

Instead of oatmeal/shake every morning, I would eat 5-6 scrambled eggs and toast. Much higher in calories, but also high in protein.

Instead of chicken breast/rice/salad, I  have meatloaf/burgers/rice with salad.

This will reset my cravings hopefully for another week.  ;D

I actually don't crave sugar/chips/chocolate. I much rather eat some greasier meat or fried chicken for a cheat meal.

Sometimes after eating the cheat meal I ask myself "why did I do it?" was it really "that great?".

I typically eat 5 meals per day - sunday through friday.  That's 30 good meals at a precise amount.

My first two meals of Saturday are similar in structure to those other 30 meals. My LAST 2 meals will then be whatever the hell I want. Pizza, McDonalds, Ice cream... Whatever.

Ive been known to gain 12lbs from that meal but after 2-3 days, I'm back to where I was and then by day 7 I'm leaner still.

Seems to work well for me.

Cheating will hold more muscle.

I always found after a certain amount of days on a clean diet my body just stopped working as well. Whether it be 7 days of 3 days. Stay Strict as hell and throw in cheat meals when you have to and you will burn more fat and hold the muscle. One massive meal will get your metabilism going and won't hold fat it will just be fluid.

 Exactly.

When I diet to lean out I still eat pretty much whatever I want in small portions. The epic cardio workouts I get riding my bicycle around fast get me lean no matter what.

Insane cardio is the what getting lean is all about. If you just diet then you are missing out on most of your fat burning opportunity.
