We were on our way to the contest in which he was guest posing and while walking through the lobby, people were stopping him to shake his hand and ask some questions.

On this one occasion a group of fans started milling around while Gary was talking to one individual and then the questions started rolling in.

He spent close to three hours answering every question honestly and in detail until he had to excuse himself to rush backstage.

I recently read on this board that he's still in great shape and residing overseas temporarily.

Any updates?

GRANT ... DId you ever meet Gary while he was living in South Africa?

BIGDUMBELL ..... What are the "issues" that you briefly mentioned above?

I think he's trying to be funny, especially if you consider Gary turned pro at 26..

Yup, saw him at the first Ironman show in '90, and his posing was atrocious.
