Hey sorry if this has been covered here but have a question on a 5x5 workout...
Never really have done full body workouts and was going to implement the 5x5. Going to use:
Squats
Chins
Rows
Bench
Shoulder Press or Cleans
Question is this.. do you progress up in weight each set such as:
Squats:
5x150
5x200
5x250
5x300
5x350
Or is it best to use the same weight through out all 5 sets after warming up?
Also how much time between sets?
I’ve read up on doing it both ways..not sure if anyone had any results with it.
Thanks for any advice…

Beginner programs (one rep max
less than 1.5x bodyweight on bench and squats and less than 2x bodyweight on deadlifts) use the same weight across all 5 sets, intermediate and advanced programs utilize the pyramid approach ( see Madcow's 5x5).

Might want to do a search on Bill Star + 5x5. Seems to be the GodFather of this system. All questions will be answered....hopefully. Lot of versions out there, best to select the best one for you. Good Luck

You only need 3 exercises per session......
