Awesome goal - probably goal of the season and it's unlikely another one will beat it. Shame he's played shit all season leading up to it though.

Good goal but over-rated purely because it was Rooney.

Wouldn't say he's "hated" but he doesn't exactly justify the 150k a week he's on considering the rest of the country is fucked financially.

I doubt any getbiggers are old enough to have seen Pele play.

And nobody does that on a regular basis.

Is that little age jab?  ;D

True story.......when I was in elementary school they tried to brainwash us into liking soccer.  They brought in some coach and he played a video of Pele doing all that stuff..... we all just laughed and went back to playing real football....  8)

It feels so great being able to understand and appreciate the insanity of that goal, while all the stupid Americanos have no clue what's going on there watching that video, thinking that was a regular goal and that's the way how soccer is played ;D

Well I suppose when you see a goal about once every 3 or 4 games, it is impressive......  ;)

So you're saying a goal like that is more luck than skill? Good to know.

the thing about that goal is it was a huge match, local derby, against world class defenders........ not many could handle the pressure to even attempt it

Why don't you try it, maybe you'll get lucky  ::) ::).

I played soccer for years so I'm pretty familiar with bicycle kicks. They're impressive, sure. And it was you who just said nobody does that on a regular basis, implying that it takes more luck than skill to pull off.  :D

no hes not  ???

hes implying that people dont get the chance to even try it especially often. and when they do it doesnt hit the goal that often.  So it takes SKILL to hit the goal. And even more to make it go in.

If you're brought up in New England, there's a 99.99% chance you played soccer at some point in your life.

Exact opposite when i was young in the south......it's changed now, but then the ONLY guys who played soccer were either not good enough or too big of wussies to play football......no joke.

Berba's goal had more class, but then he is a more class player in general.

Ronney has done nothing to justify his wages this season, he looked like he was going to be one of the top players of his generation at about 17, it just hasn't happened.

Nani has been our best player this year.

p.s it was a great goal, great pass too.

There was a degree of luck with Rooneys goal,if you watch the slow motion it comes off his shin, not his foot.It wasn`t a patch on Trevor Sinclairs goal in the 90s.

I think that the goal was great not so much because of the acrobatic style kick, but more for the power and precision of the kick, as well as the fact that it was during a derby (especially since City is also Top 4 as opposed to their customary 11th).

For my fellow Americans....just a gentle reminder that "derby" does NOT rhyme with "Herbie."  :-\
