One week to go before we head out to the Arnold Classic. Leaving Wednesday from Los Angeles to take lots of pics, meet with with customers and vendors, and just say hello to a lot of friends. It is going to be the biggest Arnold Classic yet, with so many events that you can only choose the main ones that you like to check out (MMA, Bodybuilding, Fitness, Figure, Bikini, Powerlifting, and 40 other events).
Hope to meet some of you there, as we always do, whether at the expo, the events, the parties or just plain walking down the hallways. Don't be worried if I look tired and haggard, helll, 4 days of craziness does that do you!
Thursday they have the Amatuers at the Veterans Auditorium, and also a new event, the Meet the Pros at the North hall of the Veterans Memorials, which is cool (like the Meet the Olympians). We will see you there.
Isaac (Lift Studios) Hinds, the premier photographer, has reserved a backstage studio for the competitors so we can shoot amatuers and pros right at the Veterans Auditorium so that is awesome!
So here we go - one week out. See you there...

Ron has been cutting his carbs these last few weeks in order to properly time his peak at next weekend's event. It will be "most excellent".

Destroy the tiny tits Ron !

Ha - last year at the Arnold Classic, I was 262 pounds. At least this year, I will be around 235 pounds, so I am only 4 months pregnant now, not six months :)
As for Lift Studios, the man is on a rampage - slimming down (also probably around 25 pounds from last years Arnold), and getting ready to STEP ON STAGE April 2nd in Colorado for Men's Physique.

Ron, does your family understand your passion and enthusiasm for roided up muscle men in thongs?

Yo have fun Uncle Ron- look fwd to seeing the pics!

Ha - my four year old son puts his arm up, and says 'I am a bodybuilder'. But in my house, school, family and friends matter - hence a balance in life. But in all, I respect the physiques, symmetry and muscularity combined with the discipline to skulpt your body, something that I cannot do since I don't and am not a bodybuilder (or even workout a lot). Whereas you see a thong (which is sad), I see a well defined physique, in the likes of Flex Wheeler, and others. As for the mass monsters, they are freaky, which a ton of people like out there, including mainstream.
I go there for the expo, for business meetings and much more. It is the premier event of the industry (the other being the Olympia), and it is a lot of fun. Cool new items, beautiful girls, I get to take a ton of pics (which is my passion), and enjoy time off from the grind and sales of 10 hour workdays. Plus, figure, fitness and bikini competitions - I love it.

I like Ron. Sill think he needs to start a getbig booth and staff it with famous getbiggers, imagine the recruitment potential.

Good luck with the coverage, Ron.

where are your week out pics ron?

Ron,
What kind of camera do you use and have you taken photography classes? Your pictures always turn out nice; not overexposed. How do you get those candid, low-light, flash photos not to wash out the faces of your subjects?

Sounds great, and also you take it lightly.
Have fun!

All you've got to do is drop your water and you're good to go Ron.
-
Ron, the new trend is to scream when you pose. When you lift your arms up make a high pitched scream, and when you lower them do a low pitched growl.

You're actually making me feel proud being here. Maybe next time I'm flipping through a muscle mag I'll just do it openly and not hide it inside another magazine like "Granny Porn" so people won't think I'm weird.

Have a good time Ron!!!

ROFLMAO :D ;D

where are your week out pics ron?
At the Flex Pro (so it was two weeks)... but I blew it... couldn't help it... Saturday night, eating at PF Changs, had the Honey Chicken... with brown rice... it was just too good.... I blame Bob Chicherillo and Larry Pepe.

I use a Canon 40D, and now primarily use a Canon 7D. I like them both. Some pictures to turn out overexposed, unfortunately, when you shoot in low light backstage, you hope for the best. I try to to get too close, that helps. And I try to take pictures that are good, not take every picture out there and put them up. Anyone can take a picture of someone, and make them look good, or bad.
Last time I took a photography class was in high school and one in college. I am still an amatuer, and got a lot to go. I am not a 'Photoshop' Expert that makes people like like they are Kens or Barbie. I try to learn from some great photographers out there, aka Alex Ardenti, Isaac Hinds.
But seriously, the Arnold Classic weekend is one great event and party. One of the premeir events for the supplement and bodybuilding industry. See many of you there.

Let's see, today .... oatmeal in the morning, bagel and humus for lunch, root canal in the late afternoon, simple pasta and soup for dinner, and Vicoden for late night dessert.

Got into Columbus last night - by the time we checked in, it was past 11pm (thanks to a guy that was the slowest check in person in the entire world). I kid you not, 18 people behind me with one check in person. Now, for some reason, everything closes at 11pm so we wound up ordering take out, which wasnt bad.
Ty, everything begins here in Columbus. We are headed to the Veteran's Auditorium earlier to check everything out, and the Arnold Amateur en's Classic Bodybuilding Prejudging begins around 1pm or so.
Meet the Athletes start at 6pm and then back to the amatuers this evening.
We are tweeting so you can go to
http://www.getbig.com/news/twitter.htm
to check out the latest tweets by bodybuilding, com, myself, Isaac and a few others.
P.S. come say hello if you see me
