All damage control

I watched the documentary, and it was not an act.  This interview only confirms that he is clearly bullshitting, and I don't think anyone in the industry is buying it because he still is not working.  The interviewer here says he knew it all along and Joaq says he should be a director.  In other words, Directors do not believe that it was a put on and are not casting him.

For three years? I'm not buying it.

Maybe to start, but then 3yrs? THREE YEARS?

Seems like enough time to get strung on something, act like an idiot as he was and then get therapy be it mental or drug therapy.

Just seems a little odd to me. And whiny Casey Affleck complains he went broke and now comes out saying it's fake? Hollywood market and hype.

I semi believe it.  Sometimes it's a little of both.

If you've never been insane it's hard to explain, but sometimes you can take on a "role" as a defensive mechanism. It's not necessarily a negative experience, it can be a creative one, where you explore a different side of your personality

(god, thats sounds fucking gay)  :-\
