It's just an option Ron has to uncheck in the Admin panel. Someone's started a thread in the Complaints board about it, so it'll probably be gone soon.

 I'm just over 5 foot 7. So i'm just medium short, not very short.

 If I was like 2 inches shorter it would really suck though.
