He nailed his conditioning and got 2nd place, which is well deserved. But can he actually go on to beat guys like Branch, Phil, Kai and Jay unless they show up in really bad shape?
I don't think so. Unless he improves his lower back, which I don't see happening, I think he'll also get beaten by Evan, Victor and Dex, if they are all dialled in.
Wolf's 2007 Mr Olympia physique was probably his peak.

He will be Mr O .

He should have been a long long time ago. His body has some mileage on it now. Back in 2006-2007 he was good enough to be Mr. Olympia but Europeans never usually do that great in America. Makes you wonder what Dorian had going for him that allowed him to be 2nd in his first Olympia.

You think he's got a shot at beating Jay, Phil, Kai and Branch if they are all at 100%?

Lower back and calves, he's the Tony Pearson when it comes to calves. But for as long as he's been training if he hasn't made those improvments by now he never will.

Hard to really say - I think he looks the best - he just looks like Mr O standing there compared to those guys - he has areas he needs to bring up , lower back and calfs so the ball is really in his court , I dont think we have seen Dennis at his best yet and when that day comes if it does those mentioned guys dont have a chance - its really up to him now I guess but the guy has the perfect shape the the X frame that what the best built man in the world is all about..Those other guys dont have what he has - the ball is in his court .

That's true and goes for Wolf too. My question is, can he beat those 4 guys if they're as equally conditioned as he is or better?

hell yeah....look at the height of those other guys..wolf towers them...in a side by side comparison wolf would kill them...he would only get a markdown on calves...but the other would get one on the fatass stomach...

I don't see Victor and Dexter placing ahead of Wolf again to be honest. Dexter turned 41 in November and I don't see him improving at this point in his career. At best, I think he will maintain his physique for a little while which is still very good. As for Victor, I'm not sure if his heart is there as much as it used to be although I could be wrong about that. He has been competing professionally for a decade now so that is bound to be taxing. As for Branch, Phil, Kai, and Jay, I would say that they will all beat Dennis assuming they are in condition. Even if everyone shows up in shape, I think Dennis is still around the top five or so. But as you said, his lower back doesn't seem to be improving so I don't think he will go much ahead of that.
