Dont know---could be a exhaust bypass switch...nowadays a lot of the manufacturers are putting bypass valves in the exhaust to meet drive by sound limits, and then when you open it up, it sounds beautiful. For instance the new Lambo LP-700 sounds like a vacuum cleaner, but above 6k it sounds like a beast.

I have to take a look at the interior...
