State Department's P.J. Crowley stepping down
By: CNN Senior White House Correspondent Ed Henry
(CNN) – P.J. Crowley is abruptly stepping down as State Department spokesman under pressure from White House officials because of controversial comments he made last week about the Bradley Manning case, CNN has learned from senior officials familiar with the matter.

Obama can't even keep his stooges in line.
-
Ha ha ha ha. Du and hp are going to freak.
-
hardly a big suprise
how long do you think you would last in your job if you made a public statement like this about your employer:
"What is being done to Bradley Manning is ridiculous and counterproductive and stupid on the part of the department of defense,"
-
Ha ha ha ha - what a joke this admn is. I have seen middle school plays run better than this admn.

Obama should have followed Bush's policy and hired lackeys and yes men
It's much better to have someone that is loyal the their leader above all else
Given obama's conspiratorial plans to "collapse" the country and install communism you'd think he would already have that policy in place
-
Yessir, spokesmen are there to be something other than a "yes man". Here I am thinking it was his job to relay the information his boss wants him to. I, and I suspect the majority of the public falls in the same boat, couldn't give a fuck about P.J. Crowley's opinion or ideas. ::)

you "thought it" so I guess it must be true

You "thought" the Post Office was doing well, so it must be true. ::)
Crowley was a mouthpiece and little more. Obama should learn to keep his lackeys in line.

?
Some stooge spoke out of line, and his ass got fired.
Now, I could see you saying "Obama can't control shit" if he let these things ride - like when Sec of Defense Rummy admitted to troops that we shot down the 911 plane in Penn on video.
But he fired the dude for his comments. Aside from that, what can he do? people talk out of line based upon emotion.
-
This stems from obama's wtf answer at the presser that ratigan hopped on and hp and du freaked out over.

you mean the one where you omitted words from the quote to make it all about race, and kept it in quotes?
Come on 33, obama sucks, we got it. but lately it seems like you're bitching about the little things again. You agree with his position on Libya, but he's not doing enough? He plays golf for the first time in a long time, and you're really pissed. He fires assclowns who talk out of line, and you're still pissed.
You're gonna be pissed no matter what. Obama could call you Monday morning and ask you for a list of things to do that day, and you'd complain about the phone reception. You're the 2009 John Boehnner of getbig - your job is to shit on anything Obama does, good or bad, on auto-response. That's it.
-
Lol.

I think Crowley was giving his personal opinion and clearly not an official opinion of the administration
The treatment of Manning has been covered quite a bit in the media in spite of what Rattigan said and I think it's just been drowned outt by other stories that have breader interest and appeal to the mass media and the masses at large.
Before the disaster in Japan the primary stories were Charlie Sheen with the protest in Wisconsin coming in a distant second
-
Crowley has made many other WTF statements as well.
-

When your job title is "State Department spokesman" - just abou everything you say is going to reflect upon the State Dept.
Dude should have enjoyed his paycheck and just said "no comment".
-
240, you would do great as Obama's minister of propaganda and head of anti-american activities.
-
You "thought" the Post Office was doing well, so it must be true. ::)
Crowley was a mouthpiece and little more. Obama should learn to keep his lackeys in line.
my actual statement was: "the US Postal Service is probably just fine"
Crowleys job title was "Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs" and his job included, among other things, being the spokeperson for the State Department
Was his statement about Manning the official policy position of the US State Dept or his personal opinion ?
Given his departure I'm guessing it was not the official position of the State Department

until i was asked about the birther stuff lol....

How would he be able to do anything with Obama's dick in his mouth?
-
240 should have taken gibbs job.

The spin would have been glorious:
Of course there's the possibility that Obama was born in Kenya - which only works to demonstrate the strength and resolve of this man, willing to fight through an unjust law (in this case, the 14th Amendment).
He loved America enough to overcome unjust laws, just as Rosa Parks did on that bus, just as Susan b. Anthony did in that voting booth. Anyone who admires the accomplishments of women and minorities can clearly agree that they would have done the very same thing had they been in Barry's, ahem, Barrack's shoes.
-
How would gibbs answer the bc question.

How would gibbs answer the bc question.
In some sort of mocking dodge. I would embrace it, admit it, and use it as a badge of honor, of course, in my role as white house mouthpiece.

Lol.

Hahaha! Here's another revelation for super genius Straw Man:
spokesman [ˈspəʊksmən], spokesperson [ˈspəʊksˌpɜːsən] feminine, spokeswoman [ˈspəʊksˌwʊmən]
n pl -men, -persons, -people, -women
a person authorized to speak on behalf of another person, group of people, or organization

Agree. And he didn't work for the DOD, so he didn't make any comments about his boss.

UPDATE: Remember when the Bush administration punished Gen. Eric Shinseki for his public (and prescient) dissent on the Rumsfeld/Wolfowitz plan for Iraq, and all good Democrats thought that was so awful, such a terrible sign of the administration's refusal to tolerate any open debate? And then there was that time when Bush fired his White House economic adviser, Lawrence Lindsey, for publicly suggesting that the Iraq War might cost $100 billion, prompting similar cries of outrage from Democrats about how the GOP crushes internal debate and dissent. Obama's conduct seems quite far from the time during the campaign when Obama-fawning journalists like Time's Joe Klein were hailing him for wanting a "team of rivals", and Obama was saying things like this: "I don't want to have people who just agree with me. I want people who are continually pushing me out of my comfort zone."

37. There's a terrible dull aching pain deep in my gut, tears rolling...
disappointment is not even the word I would use to describe the level of sorrow and horror I feel towards the one that I voted for, (with awareness that he wasn't actually a progressive).. it's the same feeling of severe betrayal from a close family member or friend or lover.
There simply are no words...
I won't forgive it & won't forget it.
No more illusions. Never Again.

what's your point?
I said his duties, among many, were to act as Spokeperson for the State Department
clearly his statements was not an official policy position or he would still have the job
