I think this is pretty serious. Lots of nervous people.

So Thursday about 10 we should know?

Should I order a idf gas mask from sportsmansguide? So far all I have are those shit breathers from home depot. Lol.

So Thursday about 10 we should know?
Just saw an actual map that followed the first plume and it's already gone over. The first plume wasn't that bad according to what they reported when it happened. There hasn't been really any increased radiation according to all the people testing around the country. But if this gets worse over there, we could be looking at a regular stream of fallout for months or longer and that will start to matter.

is hawaii smack dab in the middle? or far enough south to dodge it? Can the radiation reach the east coast of the USA?

so far they're south of it.

Darn it Hugo! Please sticky this thread! I'll be coming back to it periodically. Just curious.
-
No freaking way.
That is some interesting information.
Weirding me out a little.
-
I was wrong on that one map posted above, it was a projection so the first bit of radioactive stuff is due to hit sometime today according to the news.
-
This is a thread that was started where people from around the country with calibrated geiger counters can report in and it's updated in the first post of the thread. If you have a good working counter, please send in reports for the area you're in. You don't need to register on the site, you can report annonymous:
http://www.godlikeproductions.com/forum1/message1393257/pg1
hopefully we see nothing happens, but that's looking less and less likely.

I usually don't like to quote others like this but this guy nails what I and others are thinking:
O'COME ON & WAKE UP!!! - We are in Full Meltdown - The Facts are Too Clear
Suggest Unpin Quote
It's beyond logical, it's down right insulting. When the authorities say very little, it speaks volumes.
Look at the cold hard facts.......
Six days since the cooling system failed
Three days since ZERO water has been added to Reactor 2
Five days since Reactor 1 entered into partial meltdown
Two days since Reactor 4 Spent Fuel Rods burst into flames. It was said the Fuel Rods could go critical, self sustaining fission. That would be unthinkable!
One day since the Spent Fuel Rods containment water was boiling away. Should be dry now.
Two days since the radiation levels spiked temporarily to 400 mSv/hour
All of this and now a media silence on the Meltdown.
Now BLACK SMOKE over reactor 3
Is it me or is it so logical Reactor 3 is in meltdown and potentially now burning through the containment building floor.
I would feel completely stupid to believe otherwise.
And those spent fuel rods are definitely critical if no water of enough amounts were injected into the pool effectively from 100 yards away in a helicopter booking fast to avoid being cooked in flight.

Meltdown immanent.
That nuclear plant will soon be making physical threats, PMing Ron to delete their screen name, then returning with a new name tomorrow.

lol... asshole ;D I'm trying to be serious man ;D

LOL, I know most of the forum regulars are trying their best to not see this shit. In a way I don't blame them but this shit has me worried. I just got my family started. Beautiful toddler just starting to talk. And to the west, several nuclear meltdowns... yea, I'm a little freaked/pissed/worried/mad etc...

We exploded dozens of nuclear bombs during the 50's in this country. Didnt seem to result in the mass armageddon everyone is screaming about with the Jap situation, which from what I have read is really nthing even compared to chernobyl.

might want to re-check your freaking data unless you're trying to best Samson in made up crap. People did pay a price for that shit and there are quite a few studies on it. You can't just spew that fact out and jive it with "we're still here" and equal that with, "it's all good, don't worry be happy" ::)
-
Also 3333, stop watching Fox News or whatever source you got your dumb ass info from. The amount of material in critical danger in Japan is several times greater than chernobyl. They have about 80 percent of what chernobyl had in ONE FUCKING REACTOR BUILDING. They have how many in danger and or actually in the process of full meltdown? Between 3 to 6 reactors. This is several times more dangerous than chernobyl. With them being so close, this shit is turning so hot, it could easily today become a situation where no living creature can get even close enough to do anything about it. It's a wait and see, but it easily has the potential of being the worst nuclear nightmare ever. fucking pray it's not and they get it under control... If not, fuck...

I'm more worried about the drunk bangers down the street on Webster Ave. to be honest.

Don't bullshit us, we all know there are only two major worries in your reality... Obama and anything else in your line of sight not white.
It's all good, but being italian, just don't come out west and say you're white, or don't be offended if you get some, "mmm-okedokie" comments lol...

There are many more hazards to worry about than this situation in Japan likely to screw us up.

I actually hope to hell you're right. I sure in the hell want this crap resolved. But pretending the problem doesn't exist won't help that happen. If it did, I would happily ram my face in the sand too...

:)

do think that makes some kind of case for "don't worry be happy" or something? LOL... That chart along with the facts and unknowns doesn't help that much :-\ Did you even read it?

they should be more worried about you.
A bald, sober well-armd and well-trained MFer with the law on his side. They should look at you like a cop without limits when you roll thru their block. Something pops off, and you're the legally armed one and they're the illegal scumbag with a weapon they shouldn't have and don't know how to use.
You should make an effort to disrupt their lifestyle at least once a week until they vamoose. Get your friends to do the same.

I'm not kidding. if every legal american stopped 'keeping his head down' and started saying "look dude, I am not going to tell you how to live, but if you choose to do this shit on my block, the cops will be here and I may pull my legal weapon. Unless you wanna go to jail, or get killed, or prison because it's you or me- just take your business down the block".
Shit, any smart bad guy would just move on down the block. And it's not just you. It's you and the 40 fcking neighbors you bring with you to inform this dickhead that the block is now closed. And they're all packing their g****damn fanny packs and they're all pointing at the next block.
Move on, asshole. It's that simple. No 2-bit dickhead is going to pull his piece on 40 armed and focused and legal americans just itching to leave him in hydraulic failure where he stands.
Shit, I don't get why people are so scared. law is on your side. Throw the dirtbags out. period.

Been keeping close track of this and so far so good. They're detecting radioactive isotopes here that originated in Japan but at pretty low levels. There's been some odd spikes in some places reporting that are higher than usual but nothing remotely dangerous yet.
-
I had trouble 315 for 5 on the incline today for some reason. Normally I can wack out 7 without a spot. I'm more worried about that than some damn isotopes.
Must be the damn alcohol.

I wouldn't really give a shit either, thinking of my little one mostly. She's just starting out life. For people who don't care, well good for them that's their business. But on the same hand, I don't think it's fair for them to tell others why they shouldn't be watching this. Nobody officially ordered them to worry lol...

IAEA: If radioactivity continues from Fukushima, health hazard to USA “may have to be reassessed” – CNN (VIDEO)
Small amounts of radiation reach US, CNN, March 18, 2011 at 1:40 pm EST:
CNN’s Matthew Chance reported that the International Atomic Energy Agency spokesperson made very clear that only miniscule amounts of radiation have made it to US and no health hazard exists at this stage, but “if the reactor continues to emit radioactive particles into the air like it has been, then that situation may have to be reassessed.”

For those of us who failed chemistry, physics, calculus, etc - what does that mean?
-
For those of us who failed chemistry, physics, calculus, etc - what does that mean?
The cpm is counts per minute. They're usually reading anywere from 0 to 40 with normal background radiation. Higher with higher elevation. some locations like denver normally run higher, in the 40 to 90 range and los vegas due to past nuclear issues. 130 is considered by most alert level but still not dangerous. If anybody knows more about this stuff, please post. since I've been watching, these numbers have jumped quite a bit.
To make the monitoring results easier to visualize and follow over time, we have developed charts from the RadNet fixed air monitoring data. We have included two sets of data;"beta gross count rate" and "gamma gross count rate ranges.” Tracking beta and gamma radiation, which are particles and rays that come from radioacitve material, helps us to identify the type and amount of the radioactive material in the air.
* The beta gross count rate measures the radiation from all radionuclides that emit beta particles, which is indicated by the term gross or total. The term count rate tells us how quickly beta particles are being detected, which indicates how much radioactivity the monitor is seeing.
* The gamma data measures radiation from all radionuclides that emit gamma rays and splits them into ranges of energy. The word gross, or total, indicates that the measurement is from all gamma emitting radionuclides. Not all gamma rays have the same amount of energy. Breaking the data into discrete energy ranges helps scientists to determine which radionuclides may be present.

where's the bigfoot hunter, maybe he can add some info on these numbers ;D
