Title: Signs you're getting old
Post by: Agnostic007 on March 16, 2011, 10:39:15 AM
Just sold my '03 Mustang Mach 1, going to buy a 2011 Nissan Altima 2.5 SL because it's comfy, quiet cabin, good gas mileage and Consumer Reports picked it as thier 2011 Sedan of the year...

Showing off what used to be his material possessions. His ex took the house and half of the rest of his stuff, and he was forced to sell his Mustang.  Give Agnostic a break.  He has suffered enough already.    :'(

Not that it matters, but your picking on my car so I am obligated to defend her..

It's a Mach 1 with a MSRP of 30K   Not that I paid 30K for it, though some people paid over that when they first came out (Idiots)

She probably died within a year or two anyway.. how sad.

Sorry about your loss..

I paid 23 and some change for this one new, was very proud of the deal I got just by waiting a bit for the clearance for the 04's .

I recall in 94 I bought a kick ass (Sarcastic) Dodge Caravan and swore I would never own anything but a mini van from then on out...... fast forward 3 years and I was driving a sedan again.. But for a time... mini vans ruled!

No problems with it...Got rid of it with 170K highway miles.  Only replaced brakes once..I had the car fixed after the old lady..However, i decided against keeping it

Owning Billy Mimnaugh was very cool though.

I had an absolutely flawless 03 Mach and I sold it because I didn't want the financial strain of $250/mo insurance while buying my first house.  I didn't cry only because I was replacing it with my other love at the time, a black 02 Lightning.

Long story short- HUGE mistake.  In 5 years nothing ever went wrong with my Mach, even with the mods.  The SVT?  PIECE OF GARBAGE.  Made like a sloppy turd.  The ride was bad, the quality was worse, and not nearly fast enough to compensate.

And to your point.. don't feel so bad.  In a year I'll be making a lot more than I am now and if a new sports car tickles my pickle I'll pick it up.  Until then it will be my 2000 Cherokee and maybe a sedan like yourself.  The 'glory days' of stoplight bragging rights and record highway travel times are not over my friend!

My likely next sports orgasm ;D

IS300, as epic_alien likes to call it, a "Corolla", lol...
Peeps in my family tend to keep cars for a while, and that's what I intend to do...I see nothing wrong with keeping a good car for a while, and put one's self into debt, over a car one doesn't need. Times is hard...
That being said.....
