Title: Any getbigers have success quiting opiates?

Been through the wringer last 4-5 years with opiates. Everything thing from oxies to percs to suboxone. Recently switched from suboxone to a leaf called kratom. A lot of people don't know about it. Its a legal shredded up leaf you can get from on line vendors. Has opiate like effects. A lot better for you then pharmaceuticals I wanted to get off of suboxone because It can be a bitch to quit its has a very long half life. Everytime I try to quit I go through a hard withdraw. The first week is hard but the following couple of months is the worst. Its called paws. Post acute withdraw syndrome.

Well I switched to kratom because It has the shortest withdraw syndrome. Should be a bit easier to come off then anything else.

Anyone make it through an addiction like this? I feel like the depression always end up getting me to go back. I'm afraid of going through the pain again. I've been through withdraw many times and it is the worst pain you can have.

I want to quit these drug because I feel numb to everything. I don't feel like I love my girlfriend anymore. I don't feel like I really enjoy music anymore. I never feel real happiness just and numb void. At first opiates are a lot of fun but after awhile you just feel numb.

I know I sound like a sorry ass but I never have anyone to ever talk to. Theres a lot of experience on this board though I'm hoping to soak some of it up.

Try tramadol...Worked for me...

I tried Methadone, and subox, kratom,  those are just trade offs and not really a solution to help me quit..

However, with tramadol i started out at 400mg day and was completly off in 8 weeks..

Really did you use a taper. Doesn't tramadol have its own nasty withdraws?

Yes i tapered the Tramadol...If you only use it 2-3 months and taper properly you'll only have extremely mild effects, nothing like the harder opiates.

However, if you stay on 3 years it may be different.  The longer you stay on, and the higher the dosages will determine the withdrawal period..


What kind of Kratom do you use..9 grams of whole leaf worked for me...Extracts never worked at all.

sorry but it's true.  i saw a lot of this as an rx tech and a few people i've known have gone down this path.  most have not returned.  all i can offer is that it takes the same thing that fat people lack.. WILLPOWER!!!

Never was into opi but the folks I know who are on it are helpless prey to their "vice".
