I usually don't measure in miles. But I used to take my bike out at about 10 a.m. and come back around dark, riding hard almost all the way except for food breaks and 4:20 breaks.
That was back when I lived in a beautiful forest area. I just wanted to be out all the time. In the city, I usually just ride for like an hour.

Did the "Davis Double Century" in 1989 & 1990. In 1989, rode to the start line with my teammates and then rode back to the motel where we were styaing afterwards. 243 miles. Left the motel at 4- ish am. Start time was 5am- walked back in the motel room at 8pm. Photos on request or you can ask your Mom to show you the pictures.

I think PIP is talking about motorcycles, not your hippie bicycle bullshit

sometimes I ride my Hayabusa from Galveston to Juarez without stopping unless I need to get gas. it takes me around 7-8 hours. it helps that most of the cops along the way know me. i just radio ahead to let them know I'm coming. not that any one of them has a snowball's chance in hell of catching me if they tried. ;)

there used to be a very steep winding path, not even a trail, near my house growing up. you had to slide under the no trespassing sign and chain. Then you could ride that bitch to the lake. It was a blast. Had to watch out for water moccasins and rattlers tho. ran over a rattler once. :-\

yeah, but i ride a motorcycle too. although i'm not licensed to ride it.... ;D
What kind of bike (road, hybrid, mtn)? Those distances don't really seem like much, but it depends...
I have a 17 mile route that is just killer (massive hills) and more challenging than some of my 25 mile rides.

Bike ride? 500 miles in a day is far. Bicycle? A couple of miles is far.

Lmao you couldn't have spent less on a bike if you tried. You enjoy your climbs much more on a mid range bike with a light frame. Princess that's a good ride distance for a girl I NEVER see women complete the 18 km off road circuit I do. My hard tail is a carrera vengeance ultimate, for the price the spec can't be beaten, rock shock tora tk and hydraulic brakes. Looking to get a laPierre in a few months though.

anyone here has a pic of themselves wearing spandex shorts and sitting on a bike?

I wasn't sure what kind of ride he was talking about. I've only mountain biked a couple of times - about 8-9 miles each. It's hard work! Going downhill was just too scary :o It was in the fall and there were a lot of packed down wet leaves which made it difficult to see where you were going and very slippery. I do some off road 20-25 mile trails, but those are fairly flat.
Oh, and spandex shorts are ghey 8)
