you dont want getbigers to have think we are as fucked up as the US. Everything is well.

No need to sell Portuguese T-bills. Germany will back all our debts- first because their banks own it anyway. On the other hand this may be a plan to get ports to migrate to germany as to displace the turks there.

In any case the reason we are fucked is becase the fking Germans have kept the euro too high; to fit their purposes. We never produced much that is great to sell, but at the current euro level , there is nothing sellable.

However, i moved to the united states when i was 6 months..

is it too high, or are you portugese too incompetent to keep up with the Krauts?
Title: Re: Anyone here from Portugal?

The most important thing an English speaker must know about Portugal is that in English, its people are called Portuguese and not Portugese.

This mistake is very common because of how English is structured, i.e., the "gue" sequence is very rare in english , so very often english speakers assume it is "ge". I would like to thinkthat the use of "gue" is a small victory for us since in our own language people from Portugal are called Portugueses(plural)/Portugues (sing)

Anyway that is just a detail, Now for the important stuff

The reason the country is not doing well is that we dont have Olympia level male bodybuilders. If we did, the country could be saved by them sending their savings from IFBB shows back home. I guess that if Ports won the Mr Olympia, Arnold int, etc- we could get at least $1M to pay off our debts and save the nation

Note that there is only one thing standing betwen eSpain and the IMF : Paco Batista. His success abroad has kept eSpain afloat. Where is our Paco?

we have oil fields the size of Saudi Arabia but that is a well kept secret. There are several reasons for this, one of them being fear that Manion would pressure the US congress to invade us so as to secure oil sources for the IFBB and NPC.

Greg Valvolino and Derek Springer Antonio have been spoted in fact-finding missions in Lisbon

,waiting for the 2030s when everyone else runs out to come in and take the cash. Until then we are trying to just get as much money from other people as possible so that we can keep the good stuff for later.

If this is made common knowledge i am sure the US will intervene to make us even more democratic- ie -so Democratic that it is the us voters that decide who gets our oil- and that includes oil needy pro bbers

PS: forgot to mention that we are claiming $180 billion from brazil from having taught the fuckers how to write.
Now that the country is doing well the natives must pay us back since otherwise they would be living in the amazon , painting themselves red and sticking their midget penises into sugar canes (dont take my word for it- check Nat Geographical mag)

funny, but true!

the "situation" in portugal is nothing really new, its just the credit rating has gone publicly down, its made news along with the other failing economies, theres still many countries trying to keep it together, but in exact same problem. Only thing thats changed is its in the news, country has been suffering in one way or other for a very long time (decades) with brief periods of false booms.
this european union has not been working for a while (and its false currency), it did well initially, but now also opening the doors to every shit hole in parts of the world that are barely "europe" hasnt helped.

back with your Portugal gimmick, slate?

anyway...sosa, Portugues explorer, was nothing but another Columbus, brought the same disease filled blankets to brasil's natives.

the only thing brasil got out of it was "being the only Portugues speakers in the americas" and some fucking buildings ane slave depots in Salvador Bahia.

True advancements in Brasil probably come via the German and Italian war criminals unfortunately.

You got some nerves.   Portugal was fucked before any Euro Unions.

i like how the Portugese (fuck you, it's spelled portugese) and the greeks are faced with this situation:

1. we're spending more than we make
2. we should cut down on our spending because we're not earning any money
3. let's vote on it
4. we all voted against cutting spending, let's just keep doing it til the EU (Germany mostly) stops picking up our tab
5. when the money runs out, we'll overthrow our own government, because that helps (see all of Eastern block in the late 80's, early 90's, those countries have really advanced up to present day)
6. germany asks for money back, the countries laugh
7.  world war III

thankfully, these 7 steps never occured in europe before

I guess somehow, somewhere some thread I pwned your ass really bad.

It was so bad that you had to create a gimmick and come after me. sad really sad.

 Anyhow let's see here...

After stealing from Brazil for 200+ years "gold, diamonds, emeralds and some semi precious stones" ... do still need more of Brazil's money.

If was not for Brazil that language would be extinguish by now... next time you see a Brazilian say thanks.

Coimbra, Portugal - Brazil on Tuesday promised to help the beleaguered economy of Portugal, its former colonial power, which now risks needing an international financial bailout.

'Brazil can help Portugal, Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff said on arrival in the central Portuguese city of Coimbra, where her predecessor, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, was to be awarded an honorary degree.

Da Silva also advised Portugal to resist the pressure of applying for a bailout from the European Union and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

'The IMF will not solve Portugal's problems, like it did not solve Brazil's problems and like it did not solve other problems,' da Silva said.

Every time the IMF tried to help reduce debts, it 'created more problems for countries than solutions,' da Silva said.

Rousseff and da Silva were beginning a three-day visit to Portugal.

So the Almight European country "Portugal" needs help from a third world country..... wow!!!

 Educate yourself.

So go on now create another gimmick and try again... better luck next time.

Who do you think that opened the european doors for Brazil? Portugal Telecom, EDP, Galp are some of the gratest foreign investors in Brazil... our problem is nothing like yours... you have 30 millions starving and 18 millions without electricity (something that EDP is helping the brazilian government to solve).

Language extinct? Why? Brazil is killing OUR language by the minute, it is incredible can a language be so badly treated...

Your opinion is quite normal, because you don't know how the EU legislation works, but I am not going to explain. What I know is that Brazil has one of the biggest foreign defficits (although it is lowering, which is very good for Brazil).

Portuguese food is the best in the world. I don't want to hear an argument about it.  ;D  In Newark, NJ they have the Iron bound section where the Portuguese live. The restaurants there are amazing. They have such a reputation that restaurants all over NJ claim they are Portuguese and they stink. The service is top shelf.  God forbid you should take a drink of water. The waiter will run over and fill your glass. Many are family owned.

It's true.

The hospital was supossed to be full of bodies (all of them senior citizens with pre-conditions).

The deputy and bodybuilder, Lulo do Salvi, roid-raged into the facilities while shouting "Where is Bill Gates, where is Bill Gates?!"

Of course, the video didn't make it to mainstream media. So only non-sheeple know about its existence.

A less likelier scenario involves a corruption case, where the hospital was supossed to be inaugurated weeks ago yet was still on work, despite millions being poured into it. But I don't buy it, the media can never be trusted.

Are you kidding me? Caucasian food. Just pure vanilla.  If you said Italian, Cuban, Japanese, or just about any other culture was better than Portuguese I would just say different strokes for different folks but Australian?  You have to be joking. Their food is like Irish cusine. Outside of a steak with potatoes with a vegetable they are stumped.

All those (& more) cultures live in AUSTRALIA, learn geography Mr.AfroAss !.

Ah, poor Aussie, only 2-3  oceans ,3 banana palms & some minerals  :'(

Impress me with yours living location & food freshness choices ................ ;D

I live in NJ. We have more varied people here than any place in the world. We have Italian neighbor hoods. Portuguese neighborhoods, Jewish neighborhoods, Arab, Black, Cuban, Puerto Rican, Chinese  and the list goes on. We are spitting distance from Manhattan that truly has the best restaurants in the world. Actually we have world class amazing beaches but it's a well kept secret. A true NJ person will never tell an outsider where's the great beaches are located.  If someone blind folded you and dropped you one of our good beaches you could be told you were on a world famous beach but no you are in NJ.  Our wages are among the top of the country but then again so is the price of real estate and the accompanying real estate taxes. An example of this is a common cop base salary with no rank could be over 140K and with over time over 200K.  The problem with the high salaries are the price of the houses. A very modest size house will run you a half million in north Jersey.  I will say this about 80% of the US is that the food is terrible. People in Kansas and Indiana have zero idea what a good pizza or bagel is. Zero. Try getting Italian food in other states outside of NY/NJ is just about impossible. Italians don't live in Wyoming. Yes, Australians have no clue what good food is.
