how about these ties.  Not with the previous shirt though

not a broad but have plenty of experience with ties and matching.

I think that shirt and tie combo would go good with a dark blue suit more so than black...like the dark blue in the tie blue or even darker.

I never have good luck with matching odd color ties, they always look good in the store and then I get home and go "why did i buy this?"

I think you could pull the green one of with a white shirt

just out of curiosity what kind of knot do you use for your tie?

Mostly use the four-in-hand knot.  At times I use the half windsor, depending on the collar spread.

I changed the title for ya, and to manke it more gender friendly  ;D

I do like this, though.  I googled french blue and it seems deeper than this...is that right?  Or is yours lighter?

Whatever you choose, if it fits well and is crisply pressed and clean, it should be fine :)

hahahah thanks.

kewl I generally use a full windsor even with collars that arent spread these days, I just synch it up real tight is its a regular collar.

crappy though b/c you have to buy the longer ties which cost more...

I agree with this, fit is just as important as color. Nothing like good fitting clothes to put the extra pep in your step(no homo) LOL

NEVER, EVER, under any circumstances ask a woman's opinion on such topics...it's like asking a Sewer Worker on whehter or not to get your tonsils removed...while said sewer worker is looking at mountains of cockroaches...

That shirt is is good with a black or dark blue suit. Also you can wear a read, blue, and black striped tie, or a bright yellow with blue in it (whether striped or patterned--blue being the pattern), the goal is to have the yellow or bright color catch the eye and add color to the rather somber colored suit, and the blue to highlight the shirt....

i do have cuff links with black in them.

Hey Princess, it is for a general look.  I had an interview the other day and another one tomorrow.  Just wasn't sure about the look.  As I was clearing the closet out trying to find my suit I found this shirt. I forgot I had it.  If i get this position, i do want to dress a little trendy or at least with a touch of color.  But i always like the classic looks too.

True story!

Post by: xxxLinda on March 25, 2011, 01:51:21 PM
For formal or business:  Do not wear blue with black, just don't.  You'll look like a bruise.

Obviously on a Saturday, Levi's and a Harley T-Shirt are fine...

(Also never ever wear brown unless it's tweedy and you're going shooting in the country on Sunday.)

If you've not yet got a decent wardrobe of suits to choose from, start by buying a good black one or dark grey or dark blue one and get the best white shirt you can afford.

If you buy a black suit, wear only white or grey and red etc with it.  If you also have a blue or grey suit, you will be able to co-ordinate blue and pink and purple...

But whatever you do, please shave.  My only current outstanding opinion on men's fashion is about this nasty new fad they're having with the 3 day-growth.  Dreadful.

oh and ps Darlin':

I reckon that most homo (gay) men have more fashion sense than you and I put together, so please welcome them?  Oh Baby, dontcha think a coat and matching pants made of velvet, or a white suit a la Travolta is too lovely, no?

Go for the feminine, darlin', this is our Girly Board and I reckon all homos and especially loud fashion queens with attitude should surely be made welcome?

I'm only saying this because my bestest oldest girlfriend is a gay (kinda straight but very trendy) man.
