by our beloved 'Man of Steel', a proud parent to a daughter.. on why it is OK to murder children and how love fits into the equation:
Think about some of the pagan tribes of people that God ordered be destroyed. For hundreds of years these people engaged in horrifice, evil practices. Generation after generation being lead to an inevitable death in sin and eternal seperation from God. When God determined enough is enough, that these depraved people were doomed with no chance of change he saved those children that were inevitably doomed to eternal seperation from him as they were not accountable for their actions. I see that as an act of love in regards to the children that died. The Egyptian children were sacrificed, but immediately taken to the greatest kingdom of all....for none are most precious in his sight. I can't grasp all facets of his plan, but I do know that God is love.
I'm honestly flabbergasted. Is everything permissible in the name of god?

Of course. It's how all shit bag moves and deeds are justified nowadays.

Anything science proves can be traced back to God.

MOS was one of the top 3 funniest/wittiest guys here up until 3 years ago. The current version is like a 180 of the kind of guy he used to be.
Getbig isn't the place to push & defend your religious beliefs extensively, IMO. But, whatever floats your boat...

Christ changed my heart. I knew very well it would make me unpopular....I'm fine with that.
Only mistake in my post above is in the one of the last sentences....I actually mean to write "more" instead of "most" in reference to the little children.
No zingers, no jokes coming.....I regret my previous posts from years past.....the cursing, the insults, the bad behavior in general.
All I want is for others to experience the same love of Christ that I have experienced in my life. Not all will want or accept it. Some may and I'm thankful for those that do and pray for others that haven't yet. My intention was not to insult or judge anyone in another thread I posted in. If I did that in some way I apologize for that mistake....it wasn't intentional.

Maybe if someone gets their hand on some Black Kryptonite, we can separate the owning machine from the current version and have the former post here too ;D

Hey, if you've found happiness, that's wonderful. Keep on keeping on. I'm just being selfish: the old MOS used to add some happiness to my life with his sharp wit. I miss that.

I appreciate the respect...it's mutual.
Since my rededication to Christ I've received a lot of negative comments around here....some things are down right horrific and ugly. It takes a lot not to unleash, but I just shrug it off best I can. We have a lot of brilliant, educated men and women on this site that hate everything I now stand for. I don't return that hate, just want to express that the very same love and grace that I've experienced is more than abundant and sufficient for them as well.
-
I'm positive that in a real life situation, MOS would never wish death upon anyone or children in particular. To be in favor of the genocide mentioned above, you have to be nothing short of a psychopath.
But to put the idea of genocide into words and stand behind it is just plain awful, I really can't see many excuses for it. But mental illness would be one of them I guess.

I`m far from religious but if he is,it shouldn`t be a problem for anyone.
I try to respect peoples beliefs, but I do hate when people try to force them on me,not that MOS has done that at all.

I'm just joking around with the "unleashing" comment as you can tell. I know how you feel about cringing over some of your old posts, having gone way over the line myself over the years. I try not to be rude nowadays, but Getbig is always testing you and unless you take a whole different approach attitude-wise like you have, you tend to slip up and post something you regret.
Nature of the beast, sadly. But having guys like you and Sarcasm barely posting here and even then, like nothing like how you used to be, has definitely been a loss for this place and made it very slow and dull. Still, there are some good people around to pick up the slack ;D

You are correct, I don't wish that. In fact, when I first read some of these things myself they shocked me and I had to think about them. I had to read others' perspectives and those I read did a much better job of explaining their perspective than I did. It's a limitation of my intellect...I'm not a tremendous communicator. Still, being a poor testtaker doesn't make a person ignorant on the topic being tested on....they're just lousy at the test taking. Or being a nonbeliever doesn't make a person terrible and evil....that's nonsense. Nor does being a believer make that person a Jesus freak, without fault or head and shoulders above the rest....again, nonsense. I've seen some believers on this site with the worst tact possible. Yeah, let's insult and bash those that don't believe.....yeah, that's gonna help your case....terrible witness for Christ and an absolute turnoff for nonbelievers.

AAAHAHAHAH!!!! Oh brother Rhino....isn't it time for bb meal 15 of the day....lemme guess you get home from a brutal day of gear-induced training, take off your ankle-high Otomix boots, unknot your hot pink midriff whitebeater, take off your soiled daisy dukes, pull off your neon green doorag, throw your mp3 player on the counter, pose for 45 minutes in the microwave reflection, prep 85 hardboiled eggs, 2 cups of long-grain brown rice and 12oz of tuna while soaking your site injection needles in a vat of disinfectant and alcohol before you're off to package and send your soiled daisy dukes to the highest queer ebay bidder (aka Lord Humungous) before an hour of live nude online posing for your fanclub of nasty peterpuffing felch-boys......gayer than a ride on a merry-go-round while holding a snowcone!!
I wish I could wipe my ass with this thread.
MOS
Thank you superstar!! And comin from a man-mountain, pussy wreckin-machine such as yourself I take that as a fantastic compliment!!
Oh brother "LuciusFox".....whew....what a beast!! Gayer than holding hands with your life partner while running through a field of daisies holding a butterfly net on mild spring morning!!
MOS
BRIANX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You bonesacked tiny tit!!! I leave for a few minutes and you show this type of disrespect.....never speak out of turn!!! I should contact Showstoppa and have him punch your mother in the face you disgusting knobslobber!!! I bet you're the type of guy that joins the Marines and when your drill instructor approaches you in the lineup and asks why you joined his beloved core you shout at the top of your lungs, "SIR YES SIR!! I'M HERE TO MEET SOME BIG OILY BEEFCAKES, SUCK SOME COCK AND HAVE SOME NUTS DANGLED ACROSS MY QUIVERING, MOANING LIPS!!! Errrrrr.....I mean, I'm here to serve my country sir!!!" Gayer than the Canadian National Anthem!!
MOS
Do any pics exist of Dave Palumbo fully-dressed in regular clothing....jeans, belt, sneakers, nice shirt? Now, that does not mean daisy duke cutoff jeans slit up to the ass (oh brother), fanny pack, otomix ankle high boots and a polo shirt with the sleeves cut off and it knotted at his midriff....just regular people clothes.
This queer comes to my gym about 4 times a week with his ugly chick. One of those morons carryin a giant sports bag everywhere in the gym. Always has his chick apply Ben-Gay to his elbows, then he wraps his elbows, then he "flares his lats" for 5 minutes, then he mixes some drink from the contents of his enormous fuggin bag, then he "stretches his pecs" for 10 minutes, puts on his enormous weight belt and weight lifting gloves, then he walks around a little and grunts and then sits down on the Cybex incline press and reps out a massive 8 reps with 90lbs AAHAHAHAAH!!!! WHAT A BEAST!! Then it's 3 sets of db presses with massive 75lb dbs AHAHAHAAH!!! Typical dipshit: shaven head, muscle shirt, flared bb pants, combat boots, goatee, tats, weighs about a 155lbs, constant snarl on his face, always "training" his ugly donkey-chick and showin her the "right way to lift", has every fuggin bb cliche on himself and within his "bb bag" and lifts weights like a 10-year old cubscout.....fuckin queer poser AAHAHAAHAH!!!

Being humble and nice usually takes you pretty far but for me when someone tries to convince me that I'm a dirty sinner that should expect to be tortured in all eternity for being who I am, I either laugh at them or get pissed. People that imply that sort of stuff(no matter how nicely put) do not deserve any respect in my book.

I can definitely understand that being a turnoff....it was for me too until I experienced Christ's love firsthand. Who am I to judge you or someone else? Let those without sin cast the first stone. Me, I'm a big ole sinner. I got page after page of terrible behavior on Getbig to validate my sinner status. Humility and love is the message of Christ that makes me smile; still, the undeniable truth of hell is everpresent and can't be ignored. I just choose to focus on Christ's gift of salvation and his love for me (and all of us); still, escaping hell and eternal seperation from God is awesome no doubt. I'm just happy I can call him Lord and Savior and have no fear of hell or death cause he's already won the victory over both. Again, just want others to experience the same....even you lovemonkey LOL!!!

I'm, honestly, not trying to "troll" this thread but i've noticed that the the other "god vs no-god" thread has gotten huge fast and this thread is actually a spillover of that thread
with that being said don't you all feel kinda odd for arguing about whether God exists or not.
I mean:
for atheists- why argue about something that doesn't exist?
for theists- why try and show the blind "the light" when most atheists are really thick skulled?
I don't- it just seems like a huge waste of time to argue from either side

Think of it as an mental exercise.. while debating someone that doesn't share your opinion you might learn something while defending your own.

when it comes to religion or God (and trust me- there is a HUGE difference between "Religion" and "God") most people are pretty stubborn (ie-Israel/Palestine)

As CS Lewis put it, "There are only two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, in the end, 'Thy will be done.' The choice is ours.

As CS Lewis put it, "There are only two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, in the end, 'Thy will be done.' The choice is ours.
and it goes on like this
"...All that are in Hell, choose it. Without that self-choice there could be no Hell. No soul that seriously and constantly desires joy will ever miss it. Those who seek find. Those who knock it is opened."
self choice=free will
Who gave man free will? your god
your god and CS Lewis can go eff themselves for all I care. They're very sinister and mean characters.
I sound like a drama queen getting all upset, but seriously, reflect for a moment what is being said here.... truly wicked stuff.

It's ok to get upset, I'm not mad at you. I have reflected on these comments and many others. It was when I began to understand the depth of God's love and the work he's done in my life that things made sense. It's like this, a heart aligned with Christ also gives us new eyes...we begin to see things differently than ever before...as if blinders are lifted. It's not that we have all the answers, but his loving purpose becomes evident.
Unfortunately I have to logoff now, but have a good evening.

MOS: serious question: how did you "find" jesus?
Came to know Christ as a young kid...that's when I first became a Christian. Influence of parents, extended family, friends and church. Honestly, a lot of gospel music when I was kid that I grew up loving. As I got older I walked away from Christ and lost any form of a Christian witness whatsoever; I lived for me according to the world's standards. Last year I got seriously hurt, had surgical complications, became depressed, became suicidal, spent some time in intensive care due to the complications.....almost died. In my moments of greatest despair all I had left, all I had to turn to was the love of Christ that I had ignored. I surrendered completely to him, asked for forgiveness and rededicated my life. In that moment the Holy Spirit washed over me like a flood. The depression, stress and darkness left me and again I felt Christ's love and grace again....it surrounded and filled me. From then on I began my rededicated walk. I only want others to come to experience the same love that I have.
-
It's cool that you're happier now than ever before. But does it HAVE to come at the expense of being a funny guy? I mean, you used to be funny.
Can't you regain teh funny while keeping it clean?

Funny when I look at my peers and colleagues, the ones that are educated and bit more affluent, none believe in a religion. I don't think I know one person with a University degree that's doing well in life that believes in god.

In my opinion, a university degree by itself doesn't say much, at least in america. Pretty much everyone with a decent financial background has one or should get one if they're interested in getting a job. But if they study some sort of natural science that'll probably greatly affect their belief, yes. If not, then their entire intellectual being is one great paradox.

Until their asses or someone they know gets sick...I've seen it before...
I don't believe in a fairy tale god, but I believe in a entity that for the lack of a better term is a "Big Daddy" of them all...
I guess we must all take a trip on the astral plane to find out...

I agree I think catastrophic events cause people to believe there is a god. Also prison, military etc.. I'm not bashing troops by the way!! Just sayin

The problem with natural catastropies, is thar dumbass humans tend to build civilizations in areas in which they occurcabd then cry, "woe is me, why did God do this?"
well, if you didn't build near the coast where during certain months tsunamis occur, or if you didn't build your city on "extinct" volcano (Mexico City), or if you didn't build cities in hurricane zones (cities in Florida), we wouldn't have soo many problems.
Ever notice that when a hurrican comes thru, that the air is clean and clear, and the waters are clearer, and sometimes the landscap is different? It's nature's own version of a janitorial service, yet man blames god because of loss of life and homes, etc---don't build in that area!!!

Kinda begs the question, if God felt so compelled to kill these children to save them, why did he wait hundreds of years and generation after generation to act? That would mean that he allowed generations of kids to be doomed to eternal damnation...
Consistency is important wouldn't ya say?

I only want others to come to experience the same love that I have.
ok thanks for the honest answer, i had the feeling that you started to belive in jesus because something like that happend to you. Well it seems to work for you and as long as it makes you happy then more power to you, but i do think that if god did excist he would have a sense of humor and be ok with jokes about men in thongs
