During their interview, O'Reilly expressed disbelief that Trump was actually a birther at all, and O'Reilly's next guest, Karl Rove, also tried to distance himself and the rest of the Republican party from Trump's newfound birtherism.
"The right wing base of the Republican party, I'm part of that right wing base, is not in love with the issue of birthers. I mean, there is an element inside the Republican party, and outside the Republican party, that's fallen in love with this but the majority of Republicans and the vast majority of Americans accept is he a U.S. citizen capable of being president."
Rove was especially disconcerted with how Trump seems to be actually becoming more and more of a birther as time goes on.
"You know, the troubling thing in the interview tonight was he said as time has gone on here, over the last couple of weeks, he has become more interested and more believing in the issue. You know, when he first brought it up, he said 'of course I accept that he's a citizen. He ought to just release the, release his birth certificate.' Different tone tonight. This is a mistake. It will marginalize him and he's falling into Barack Obama's trap. Barack Obama wants Republicans to fall into this trap because he knows it discredits us with the vast majority of the American people when they do."
rove knows, that's why obama says nothing about the birth certificate ;D

Karl Rove has done far more discredit the GOP than Trump ever has. Rove is the lastpofs to talk after the scams and schemes he pulled.
Rove saying this makes me support Trump even more.
F U K R ! ! ! !

say what you want about him but he got bush in the white house twice ::)
-
He's right. Makes for good theater, but definitely marginalizes him as a candidate.

Yeah, and tried pushing amnesty for illegals, NCLB, Harriet Meirs, Dubai Ports, spending up the yin yang, drug bill, "compassionate conservatism", etc.

Maybe he is doing this solely to beat obama down and draw fire for the gop or a hillary run?
Either way, I am so loving this. The bamabots know he was not born here and has no records to prove he is a NBC and this and every day that somene kicks barry in the nuts on this the happier I am.

were not talking about policies, he knows what it takes to get someone elected, would be smart to listen to him

Well he's the only one who can get away with it. I still think Hillary could run. A long shot, but not out of the question. She never completely ruled it out.

Why does anyone give a shit about what Karl Rove has to say?? He is just a soft, fat ass, neocon who has never done anything but lie, cheat, and steal his whole life. He should be in jail right now for fabricating the WMD hoax to go into Iraq. At least Donald Trump has the balls to ask the hard questions and stand up for something.

Will the republican party distance themselves from Trump?

Why? And embrace who another boring rino. No thanks.

I am asking if they will.

Some people would rather be governed by a competent and consistent conservative, than a flashy and exciting "republican" who had very consistent liberal views from 1975 through 2009 - then suddenly changed when his TV series needed some exposure.

i hate to admit that Karl is right; but even a broken clock is right twice in 24 hours.
