If you are looking for a solid black suit with an old fashioned professional look you can get it almost anywhere. At that price range just go the the Men's Warehouse or something.

I've got 1 black suit but I almost never wear it.

I wear grey, tan and brown. Stylin' and pimpin'. Even for work or conferences I don't wear black usually.

But I don;t really know what the popular suit fashions are in Florida. Here in Asia it's really different. Shiny silver is popular. ALso really tight suits and really gay looking shit.

I wish I could get a really nice fitted one.... but the problem is my weight is always fluctuating, plus they make those for like 160 lbs fellas that don't really work out, I always have to get them tailored!

Try Men's Warehouse.

Black is not going to be as versatile as you might think.  Charcoal is more neutral.

This would look nice and be good for spring/summer

How long do they normally take there?  I have a conference next week.... I could always wear one of my older suits, but I dunno... I want something fresh  8)

Try Jos A Banks.  They often have 2 for 1.

Getting it during a sale will make it more difficult to get it quickly since there will probably be a lot of sales.  The tailors don't work on just suits.  They work on everything, including women's clothing.  I think you'd be better off at Men's Warehouse type of store.  Jos. A Banks...  Getting something tailored that quickly may be a challenge.  Are there any independent stores nearby?  You know, the old-fashioned kind of place your grandfather would've gone?  They would likely be very accommodating.

I like the first pic I posted for something "fresh".

x2 on Ralph but CK is always tough because they are made for skinny people.

....and if you go to a Macy's or Lord and Taylor{ great suits when on sale,check the Black and Brown label}
it will usually take a week to get it tailored.

as far as tailoring, quite true, even Jos A Banks takes that long..the tailor at the one near me was the best dressed elderly man I have ever seen...never seen brown shoes that shiny, dude was dressed so well, that Hey-sus himself would be jealous...

I took a RL suit to a Korean tailor and got it back in 2 days.

i realize you're a billionaire, but check macy's website for coups and it's almost worth signing up for their "announcements".  they send shit to my wife, and i shit you not when i say we pay for most of our clothes for about 20% of sticker, with coupons and promotions , etc (we don't even have a macy's card).

the suit selection isn't by the thousands, but they have the top classic brands like calvin klein, etc.  they have tailors on staff, and if you "expedite" the order (at least it's available by our house) for like $10 extra or something they have it tailored next day.  if you have a few minutes to kill, i'd definitely check them out.  i got my last two suits there for like $150 each; one's calvin klein, forget the other one (i want to say guess, i think it was a "martin scorsese" or some crap)

I bought a very dark blue suit with very very fine detail stripes (not pinstripe)

Had to get a big size which was 20% extra and then tailored but I view it as an investment.

Cost £300 though.

With Jos A Bank, I forgot, I had their tailor do a Trench Coat and a suit for me. The Korean tailor was cheap (Korean prices), they did a RL suit for me, something along 25-30 dollars, for two days (they could have it in 1 day)...

You are in med school, you'll be able to afford it, if anything, they are lower mid to mid level, Brooks Brothers near me is good, but their tie selections aren't as good as Jos. A Bank---that is my "thing", ties...if a place doesn't have good tie selection, it shows that they only really care about selling a product...not selling and complimenting the product to it's fullest.

He'll soon be at a lucrative firm or private practice---and wearing a Breguet he bought himself as a present.

Most people don't pay attention what suit you are wearing, especially women---it's like knowing that she is wearing designer shoes.

Actually, now that things are lax, you can wear a striped shirt with a stripe suit---it used to be a no no for wearing a stripe shirt with stripe tie as well (too many freaking stripes)...

When things are lax, you can wear jeans and sandals. That doesn't make you look professional.
Designer isnt a big issue, fit and style is. Cheap suits fit like cheap suits.  Even when tailored.
Yes, chicks do know what you are wearing. Just like they know what you drive. It is in their nature.

They pay attention to ties, but don't know how to pick one out--"yes, my husband wears this, I'll get this type", I've helped several women out at Banks and Brooks Bros and Macy's picking out ties (and got a few numbers). Just as women pick things for the type of meeting, conference, date, work, etc, many women don't think men take that in account.

Women dress for other women, men dress for other men AND women.

BTW, I didn't mean THAT lax...

Just dropped $300 on a Ralph Lauren suit at Macys, even with the sale I still went over budget lol!

Whatever, took us a while but finally found one that fits well and looks great, I can even pull it off without getting it tailored!

Thanks for all the help guys!
