Title: If you bang/clang the weight, then you're clueless
Post by: dov on April 08, 2011, 06:05:36 PM
Especially when using machines. For instance, when on pec deck if there is any sound coming from machine, then it's not being controlled at all. Therefore, no constant tension on targeted muscle. Douchebags with earphones on make more noise than anyone. That's my rant. Discuss or don't, who cares.

My favorites are the badasses who loudly clang the 20-lb DBs together at the top of their chest flies or bottom of lateral raises.

Simply and slowly approach the noisy offender and headbutt him repeatedly and without mercy.

End of thread!

Usually, the most noise I make is when dead lifting. At the end, I just don't care and if I drop the weight instead of setting it down lightly on the last rep.....so be it. I hate deadlifts.....hate them!!

That's how a man dealifts, you grunt and scream and let farts rip out, and on the last rep you let the weight drop down, with a final scream so that everybody knows you are finished now.

::)

Why would I bang them, honestly?

I can lift all DB's up myself so I can put them down again. When I deadlift I do it controlled. I dont clan at DB shoulder press or incline DB etc

Mainly because I dont want to wreck the DB's and also its stupid.

This is only 500lbs but the negative is controlled also.

You ever do rack pulls? And you can sit up from a flat bench with a DB in each hand?

I dont do rack pulls.

Yea my gym has fixed 120lb DB's and I can get them in position do my set and sit up with them after without making a sound.

I dont do rack pulls.

Yea my gym has fixed 120lb DB's and I can get them in position do my set and sit up with them after without making a sound.
From 120 up I have to drop them. :-[

Do you bring them down to your knees on the last rep and use the momentum to sit up?

Have done 130s in another gym easily before. Yea on last rep on way down I twist them and just sit straight up with them. Then stand up. I dont liek dropping them to the side. Plus not allowed in my gym

Yeah I'm not big on dropping the weights on my knees like that, rather just drop them, it's only the height of the bench, not too bad. Rack pulls make the most noise, also used to do an exercise where you put the barbell under the pins of the rack at knee height, then deadlift to the pin, helps build explosiveness.....that was noisy as shit too.
