A GOP push to strip $317 million in federal funding from Planned Parenthood failed. Democrats also turned back Republican attempts to get federal dollars currently set aside for family planning and women's health turned into block grants for states.

They aren't going to put obamacare in the bill either - it'll be its own vote, gee I wonder how taht'll go in the senate lol..........

tony, perhaps you were blinded with love for miss bachmann, in which case i can't blind you.  i've said for a week that the dems WANT a shutdown very much, as they'd benefit from it.  boehnner said it, dean and reid said it too.

interesting.  michelle bachmann voted against it.  She gave Boehnner the finger on that one.

She's truly a rogue, let's be honest.  Palin did fall in line in 2008.  This is certainly a time bachmann should be doing so.  but she's not!  She's voting how she thinks is right.

props.  You had Pence and other screaming 'shut er down'

She kept quiet and calmnly voted against the bill.

I think Bachmann could be on honest candidate.  She has only bee in Washington 5 years so she hasn't been corrupted yet.  The only issue I have with her is she voted to extend the Patriot Act, which is not a Tea Party position at all.

LOL!  #losing.

the tea party amateurs blinked and did was daddy boehnner told them.  they  caved on the PP issue, and they ended at what, 35, 36 billion?  The dems OFFERED 33 billion, and the repubs counter offered with 71 billion.

Glad to see they 'met in the middle' at 36 billion haha.

I knew you'd claim a win no matter what.  AMERICA loses that we have such d-bags running the place in both parties.  But any repub who says "we won!" after screaming last week it was 71 billion and ending PP or bust... well...

Not sure given the constant changes, but I think Republicans initially wanted 61 billion at the start.  The first two CR's cut 20 billion and this last one I think is 35 or so billion bringing it to 55-56 billion?  Fairly close to the 61 billion but correct my numbers if I'm off.

Negotiators capped days of frantic closed-door talks and public recriminations by agreeing on a framework for a package of $38.5 billion in spending cuts covering the rest of the fiscal year, which expires September 30. The budget deal still needs to pass in both houses, with the expectation that lawmakers will approve it and the president will sign it before the short-term funding measure expires.

This Deal is Not Enough [Michele Bachmann]

This Deal is Not Enough

Posted by Rep. Michele Bachmann
Saturday, April 9th at 12:07PM EDT

The deal of $38 billion in cuts announced early this morning between GOP Leadership and Harry Reid is a pittance compared to the $3.5 trillion+ we are on pace to spend this year alone. Since Republicans took the Majority, I have been vocal about what the American people sent us to Washington to accomplish. As I said in my last RedState post, we must fight over trillions in cuts, we must fight over defunding ObamaCare and we must fight over defunding Planned Parenthood.

I wanted the GOP to fight for more in this week’s negotiations. I wanted them to fight for significant spending cuts before this debt cripples our children and grandchildren like it is crippling our economy right now. I have demonstrated my commitment to these values by voting “no” on past continuing resolutions and I will continue to oppose any spending measure that fails to take up these crucial issues. And rest assured, I will continue to fight for them when the battleground shifts to the debt ceiling and the 2012 budget.

Yes, but what about her vote to extend the patriot act?  Is she a supporter of the national security state and big brother?

yep, but that's ancient history and a non-issue to national voters.
bush and obama both supported it.

Unfortunately you are right.  90% of the people of this nation probably don't even know what the patriot act entails and only care about current media soundbites to influence their votes.

I think 90 percent of people who support the Patriot Act have never heard of the 4th Amendment to our Constitution.  Of course, like I always say, it is

"Just a damn piece of paper" -GW Bush.

Then again, if you are ok with Big Sis Janet Napalitano reading your emails and tapping your phone without a court order than more power to you.  I don't want that fat, retarded dike looking at any of my emails, but that is just me.

The part about warrantless wiretapping, searches without a court order, you know, the 1984 George Orwell stuff.
