I don't have a problem with a black actor playing a norse god anymore than i do with tha fact that Wolverine magically became a six footer for the move to the big screen. It's not exactly as if it's an accurate portrayal of the norse mythology, it's from a comic book story/universe.
And really, is it any different than for example a white woman playing Cleopatra? I'll complain if he puts in a shit performance.
I'm still more concerned with Anthony Hopkins as Odin.

What part about Heimdall being portrayed as negroidal did you not get? That would be somewhat akin to having, oh...say Huey Lewis play Huey Newton in an all white playing black minstrel show (redundant I know, but necessary all the same) loosely based on Huey N's life as it parallelled the life of the actors in "Big Foot and Wild Boy". Or H.R.Pufnstuf.

NOT a Super Hero movie by any means but it should be damn good .... Spielberg's "SUPER 8' ... about a group of young kids making a super eight film and accidently get some highly classified train wreck footage. From what I've heard the train was transporting some type of alien creature and all hell breaks loose.
I have a strong suspecion that the kids will save the day while their parents assume the roles of bumbling fools.

Looking forward to viewing "The King's Speech" this weekend. I am a fan of what were once termed "costumed epics" and recently purchased both "Elizabeth" films with Cate Blanchett. Colin Clive is also a favorite actor as is Geoffrey Rush.
It isn't so much that I have class, but I prefer it when the films I watch do. Of course I also enjoyed the classic films ;D, "Kick-Ass" and "Red" so a good time is not really beneath me. All the best to your family, sir.

Watched it today, fun movie.
I didn't really expect anything and was trapped on a plane for several hours so i couldn't escape.
Was like a mixture of S.W.A.T. and Independence Day with some Black Hawk Down elements thrown in. Michelle Rodriguez plays a hardcore Marine/solider girl that could kick a man's ass and kills some aliens, need i say more about originality?
If you're older than 10, you have seen it all before somewhere, but if you have enough beer and some finger food, it's k to watch.
On a side note, "Sucker Punch" was much better.
