Title: Gold's Gym Then and Now.

I was bored so I ventured over to Ironage and they had a topic on this where the following videos where included-

Now I know that most or the old guard has moved on, but one of the things that struck me in the 2011 video was that there wasn't much in the way of free weight equiptment visible like Power racks, squat racks and the like. Out of curiousity, what's the % free weights to machines there now?

That is mid 70's.

Btw, the chin up stand at the 40 second mark in the second video is still at golds today.

Gold's was cool in the late 80's to mid 90's. Alaways had a great workout when I went there. I was intimidated and ispired at the same time. Met and saw a lot of pros and celebrities as well...

isn't golds - the original gym - gone now? read a family bought it and lives there and the new golds gym is a totally different premise. correct me if wrong?

They have moved it twice since the original place.

The original is where it's at. I'd pay a lot to train there. Who cares if a ordinary gym just has the name Golds ???

Went there on a Saturday Morning back in Jan 2009. Saw Tito Raymond training some chubby girl. Saw James Caan walked by cracked a joke to me.
Saw Pauline Nordin doing HIIT on the step mill.
Got checked out by about 10-15 diff chicks. The locker room was on the upper level. I thought about Tom PRince and baper bags when I walked in  ;D

I can't speak for the past, but I can tell you about the current scene.

Gold's Gym is great. Just the other day, after my workout, I got sucked off by a blind guy.

Gold's Gym's today are sad.  Everyone is a wannabe bber on roids, looking like shit, usually weak...coupled with weak intensity.
I saw one guy today that had a shirt on saying, "Mass Monster"...or something of the sort, meanwhile this fool out weighed me by 50lbs and lifted child weight on drugs.
