Title: Old people and casinos

So I went to teh local indian casino last saturday... and I am once again amazed by the sheer volume of old people that are blowing buttloads of $$$ on gambling machines. What's interesting is that none of these old people really seem to know whats going on in regards to the game they are playing...

My question: What is it about casinos that attracts old people and gets them to actually CAMP OUT in the parking lot and play electronic slot machines for weeks at a time?

I don't get it?  ???

When I was in Vegas I was amazed by the amount of Oriental people who like to gamble - blowing shitloads of money with reckless abandon on the craps, roulette, and blackjack tables - what is it about that particular race and gambling?

I've only gambled a few times but craps is pretty fun.

You should go to Macau - much bigger than Vegas in terms of pure gambling. All Asians, all the time.

With old people the only other option is death. They mostly play the penny machines, which if betting enough, can give big payoff's. The also like the cheaper buffets. Valley View (SD) has the best buffet by far.

Asian's are big on any kind of gambling. They are brought in by the bus loads to Valley View, Harrah's, Pala and all the other San Diego casinos. Some as far away as LA.  

Lot of Asians and middle eastern types in Vegas. And older people. The backbone of casinos are the retired people and Asians. Without them, most casinos would fold.

Had a few friends work security at casinos and tell me that special attention is given to blacks and Mexican. Talk more than they actually bet and are sore losers. Asian's being kind of cool, win or lose. Old people are just that, old people.
