A job opportunity opened up for me in Knoxville Tennessee.
I'm reading a lot of great things online about the place. But it sounds unrealistically good.
What's up with Tennessee? Anyone familiar with that territory? Is it cool? Looks like it's cheap living and decent weather, probably some hot busty southern women.
How are the gyms out there?

I live in TN, Nashville area. Knox is about a 2.5hr drive from where I live but I get up that way from time to time...have some friends up that way.
Personally I think TN is one of the best places to live...the cost of living is much cheaper than most other places, the job market is better in TN than a lot of states and all that means a better quality of life. Weather wise TN is all over the place but the summers are normally brutally hot, 100 plus and the winters are butt ass cold.
Gym wise, Knoxville has some OK gyms, more than likely you'll end up training at The Rush, there are a handful of those in Knox. There's a gym in Murfreesboro TN that is IMO one of the best gyms in the country...I'd put it at top 3 without question. Of course that doesn't help you since that would be a two and a half to three hour drive depending on where you live in Knox.

I'm pretty sure most people in Tennessee own a gun or two. So you won't be able to continue your sleeping around with married women there without getting shot by an angry husband. :-X

Yeah. The redneck culture out there is something i'm not sure if i'll like. I could probably get used to it but I think those rednecks will take one look at me and KNOW i'm not from around there.
But if I can live in Vietnam and Thailand and places like that then i'm sure Tennessee will be no problem.

Don't worry. When I bang a married woman I make sure her husband is a pussy. If he's got a gun or he's the fighting type i'll stay away. I play it safe. With every married woman I fucked, I knew that the husband was a non-gun owning pussy beforehand.
A married woman made a pass at me a few months ago and I turned it down because her husband is this really mean and rough dude. He looked like he would definitely get violent, so I passed on that one.
Anyway I don't go around fucking married women all the time. Only done it a few times. But it's very common, happens all the time, no big deal, it's just fucking.

I used to live there. It's a fairly small place.
It's a nice, rural lifestyle there. You won't be stuck in traffic Monday to Friday but you don't want to get stuck in the Sunday morning go to church traffic there. Still, it's all relative, traffic is still light compared to any other city I've lived in.
Not many gyms but the ones I went to were pretty good. Not lacking equipment & hotties at all.
If you like clubbing - it will suck for you as there's not much of a scene but there's some decent bars to hang out & shoot pool in.
I'd certainly live there again.

I'm a California west coast guy for sure.
But i'm DONE with California. The high cost of living, crime, crowding, gentrification, etc. etc.
I'm done living in the expensive high tax states. I just wanna go to a cheap and friendly place with nice nature and hot women.

Peter Putnam lives in Knoxville. So I'm assuming the gyms are great aside from the lack of rowing and pulling equipment.

To be honest - I didn't come across many rednecks there. That doesn't mean they aren't there - just that I never came across them at all. The only rednecks I did meet were visiting there from Alabama and meeting them was a surreal experience.
It's a fairly modern but small city is Knoxville. Lots of church people but the lifestyle I lead there left me wanting for nothing...
I saw my first (and last) ballet in Knoxville... The guys I was with nearly drained the bar dry during the interval.

I live in Thailand. If you are in VN now, you might want to work your way into Knoxville slowly. I am fairly sure if I went there now, the fresh air would kill me.
One other thing - I have an English accent. I would advise you get one before you get to Knoxville. An Aussie accent would probably work too. An English accent in Knoxville works the same way a Ferarri and a house in Beverly Hills does in LA....

I grew up in Knoxville and lived there for 22 years. It is a nice city....not too big, not too small. You have the University of Tennessee there, so the downtown area has somewhat of a college-town feel to it, and there are obviously a ton of Vols fans. The Rush pretty much has a monopoly on the gyms in Knoxville, but its a cool place...I never had any complaints about it. Do you know what area of Knoxville your job would be in? Knoxville itself isn't very redneck in my opinion, but a lot of the areas surrounding it are a different story.
I'm hearing a lot of people tell me that Knoxville is all the way redneck. Is this true?
It's strange, some people say that Knoxville is hip and interesting and exciting. Some people say it's very backwards and redneck and hick. What's the truth?
I guess I gotta just go see for myself someday.
I don't know which area i'll be living in yet. But since it's a small city I'd guess every area is similar.
I don't need luxery and awesome stuff to do everywhere. I'll be happy to live in a little place with fresh air and a garden in the back (or in my closet ;))
Are there a lot of stoners in Knoxville? What's the weed and drug situation like? Easy to get good buds?

I stayed in Knox a few weekends when I went to college in Ky. It was pretty cool there until I went to the cotten eye joe and the fuckers took my id >:(

Sounds like a pretty good place. I just want to go to a place that's rural and laid back but still has some fun stuff to do.

It's still open. But I don't think i'm gonna take it. I don't want to live in the Dallas area. It just doesn't look like it's my thing.
I'm just looking at jobs online and sending my portfolio to different places. Getting some job offers. Just seeing what's out there really.

Well the Dallas job was actually through a friend there.
The Knoxville job is just online.
I also got offers in a lot of REALLY small towns in random places, hours from any kind of city. Lots of offers.
