Title: Still gives me goosebumps!
Post by: affeman on April 27, 2011, 02:52:32 PM
What a monumental event. Probably the only time we were able to witness first hand when history was made in our pathetic, unimportant existances.

Man, eventough 10 years ago, I remember like it was yesterday. I remember the exact day, what I did that day, with whom I've spend it, and the entire world, 7 billion people, was looking just at this place, the small island of Manhattan, and nothing else. We were excited like we were right in the middle, eventough 1000s of miles away and still teenagers.

Every TV channel, every radio channel, there was no other topic for weeks, like the world has stopped turning. I miss that feeling of excitement and uncertainity. Haven't had this exact feeling since then.

See, if you live in the south, everyone just wants to Bomb the entire region and leave it with nothing.

I'm not sure what your meaning of excitement is but it definitely is not my definition. I lived in 10 minutes away in E. Rutherford NJ and worked in NYC on this horrific day. I do remember it as yesterday. I remember seeing the smoke from the towers from my apartment. I remember the fear in my families messages on my cell and home phone (I had a NYC cell number and couldn't access either for a few days). I remember not hearing from my roomate who worked in tower 2 and waiting for her to get home (she did around 2am covered in soot and dirt). I remember not being able to get to work for a few days because access to the city was almost cut off.
I remember the streets in my area all blocked off. I remember how scared I got because a news report that afternoon said there was a white van full of explosives heading towards giants stadium (2 miles from where I lived).

I remember 2 weeks of volunteer work at S. Street Seaport. Seeing rescue workers, absolutely drained.

I go to the memorial every year. It's just a day I won't ever forget, but NOTHING exciting about it.

And then moments later, george bush declared the poisonus air as clean and not dangerous, that people don't have to use masks while going out of house.... even though experts have said that the smoke is filled with dangerous amount of certain chemicals that will deifnetely accure as canser later on in their life if they breath the air.

Inside job.... all the way.... some people just want to watch the world burn... it was a human sacrifice just like all the other human sacrifices in the ancient world, it happends today in a differend form. Nobody believes this but i do, and i KNOW it's true.
