Title: At what point is a guy "too short"?
Post by: Firemuscle on May 02, 2011, 02:17:38 AM
What do you think is the point when they are in midget zone with their height?

What do you think is the minimum height that a guy can be without lookining dwarfish or elfish?

I think above 5'11 looks tall and usually lanky.

5'9 - 5'11 looks slightly tall, pretty average though. Not lanky,

5'8 and 5'7 is the medium point where it's slightly short, but not quite short-short. Still looks good and probably the best height for bodybuilders.

5'6 and 5'5 is pretty short. Still looks kinda normal, but definitely short. still alright though.

5'4 and below and you're ready to be an oompa loompa in Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. You look VERY short.

Below 170cms I think.

Got to take bodyframe into the occasion too.

Someone with short torsom long limbs and wide shoulders won't look as short as someone with short limbs.

 Yup.

 Short limb people are dwarves.

 Long limb people are elves.

5'10 - 6'0 seems to be the best height for elite bodybuilding.
Arnold, Haney, Wheeler, Yates, Coleman are close in this range.
Jay would look less squatty and more aesthetic with an inch or two more.

I agree once you get below 5'5 most guys will look too short>
There's always exceptions though...
Makkawy? and Padilla both looked great around 5'5 or less.

Proportion is numero uno no matter if male or female.
Of course, a well proportioned 6'5" male pwns a 5'2" one.

Spot on.

I'd say the best height for bodybuilding is 5'8-5'10. And as you say anything over 5'11 usually tends to look too lanky, especially without drugs.

5'6 ft is when most would probably start regarding a guy as being on the short side.

above 6'1" = "too tall"

5'8" - 5'10" = average height

below 5'7" = "too short"

I'm 6'1 and I can only think of one of my friends who's 5'9 and he looks like a midget compared tp the rest of us. Anyone around here under 5'11 looks short to me. I'd say 6' was probably the average height here but we're all southern cornfed farm boys ;D. I don't know if I've ever even seen a grown man under 5'7?

face it dude, you're short

5'9 - 6'1     = perfect height

above or below is lanky or short. not that height determines a persons worth though.

I am 5'9 and feel short in my home country Norway. When visiting southern Europe I am above average some places. It depends...

Google translates this as:

"A Norwegian on getbig, been a while since I've seen! I feel low even in Norway"

Is that correct?

Awwww...I can see that I destroyed and humiliated you with my "Short Guys With Big Muscles Look Ridiculous" thread. You are defensive because you suspect - with very good reason - that you are short, and now you are trying to feel good by people validate your height as average.
