Paul Revere is definitely one of the top 5 rap songs ever.

Being from the Bronx, i am almost 1005 a east coast guy.  Beasties captured the NYC feel like no one else.  I also like PE, KRS, Eric B., EPMD, TCQ, etc, but Beasties still are up at the top with most memorable jams.

Thing about the besties is that they combined rock, metal, rap, NYC, old school samples, etc, silly shit, party, serious stuff, all seemlessly.

The Beastie Boys have had some great tunes over the years. I've seen them live twice. Whiniest fucking voices ever though.

Respect to them for learning their own instruments just to show they weren't a rap gimmick. Their guitar driven songs are probably better than their sample-based ones.  I've got their instrumental album, "The In Sound from Way Out". Always in my car.

Enter the Wu-Tang is probably the best hip-hop album of all time though.

I thought I was the only one who had ever even HEARD of that album. Nobody I know would know that album name.

Great album, though. I love all the instrumentals they've done. Eugene's Lament is incredible.

Thing I like about the Beasties is how versatile they are.   they can play and do anything and pull it off from metal (No Sleep till Brooklyn, Sabatoge) to real hip hop - paul revere, slow and low, check it out,  to other stuff.
