Title: Best of the Wrestling Board:
Post by: Montague on May 08, 2011, 08:05:51 AM
Okay:

It recently dawned on me as I was searching for something for my buddy the other day that we’ve had some damn good discussions on this board over the last three years.
This board surprisingly is pretty active considering the subject matter is druggies in spandex pretending to fight.

To commemorate our…um…whatever the piss, I’m starting a “Best of the Wrestling Board” thread.
Please feel free to post your favorite threads and/or posts; whichever are your fav’s for whichever reason.
They can be serious, humorous, insightful…whatever.
If you like’em, POST’EM!

If you think of it, please include a title or brief description of the thread and/or why it stands out to you.
Some of these are probably even worth bumping.
Regardless, it's neat to look back on some of them.

Whatever you want, man.
I thought this might also be a good way to revisit and build on some good topics of discussion.

He watched if we made him. I remember him  really thinking it was the shits at times with the non wrestling related stuff WWE was doing. " Too much talking." he'd say.  He would always give Perfect, Razor, HBK, Goldust and a few others credit for being great workers. His biggest complant though was that none of the heels were working the crowd. (go figure)

On a side note look how great Goldust has been since he's come back. He can still go.

Vince needs to bring some of the oldtimers that can perform at the level that
Goldust has been performing ...

Would have LOVED to watch some old NWA footage with your dad.

Just had this discussion with OLE BIG the other day about how Flair would hive the fans a little nod as a heel and as soon as they bit he would trash them.  Did it in interviews all the time.  Problem with later herls is that they liked the positive reaction too much.  Hall, Nash, Hogan being prime examples.

That's why I considered Hunter a great heel. When he left D-X, he abandoned everything that endeared him to the fans. Guys like Hall would (as a heel) still use the same catch phrases, etc. that got them over.
