The Squat is the King of all progressive weight lifting exercises. This can be clarified with one word: Testosterone. The Squat, when performed correctly, induces the body to produce higher levels of Testosterone, making you bigger and stronger all over. Most men my age, for example, are running low on Testosterone and they can no longer perform and that includes sexually. Now myself, I can count how many workout I've missed in the last fifty years one one hand. I've been squatting coninuously three times a week the whoe time. And I don't mind saying my test levels are so high my unit still gets as hard as a brick now as it did when I was fourteen. And the broads love it. So keep Squatting, and stay away from the steroid creeps, who by the way, have atrophied, withered genitals.

Exactly. It's just a myth.
Squats do stimulate your CNS hard. But so do deadlifts or any kind of extreme workout.

I read a while ago n fukk brining it up for this guy but the "testosterone incrases" assocaited are negligible to say the least and not enough to ilicit some sort of noticable effect...
in fact draining of CNS and cortisol on the increase associated with hard out... may have oppisite effect...
however increased blood pumping = circulation = desired effects etc... dumb thread...

Been doing squats for years myself. Seems like the guys with skinny legs who don't squat get angry at guys with powerful legs who do squat.

well squats are supposed to be the best full body compound exercise, so maybe this make sense that it would raise your test levels, however don't know about doing legs 3 times a week, especially working them hard?
i read somewhere that a simple way of knowing if your test levels are high or low is how should i say "um, when you wake up every morning! lol! meaning if your reaching for the ceiling every day or pretty much every day than your test levels are fine, otherwise, you might have a problem!

This is true. It's an awesome compound movement and when I squat hard it even pumps my whole upper body.

Squatting 3 x week? Seems a bit much to me....my entire body is trashed for 3/4days after a squat w/o...what is your typical squat w/o? just curious

Squatting 3 x week? Seems a bit much to me....my entire body is trashed for 3/4days after a squat w/o...what is your typical squat w/o? just curious
3 x per week is doable, my current routine is roughly like this
mon
snatch, work up to 4 x 3 @ 85 percent
clean, work up to 4 x 2 @ 80 percent
front squat, easy 4 x 3 or so
wed
clean and jerk, work up to 4 x 2 @ 90 percent
snatch, work up to 4 x 2 @ 80 percent
back squat, work up to a heavy triple
fri
snatch, work up to 4 x 3 @ 85 percent
clean, work up to 4 x 1 @ 90 percent
pulls or presses
sat
clean and jerk, work up to a heavy single
snatch, work up to 3 x 3 @ 80 percent
front squat, work up to a heavy single

yeah, steroids effecting cock size is a common misconception/jealous cop-out. doesn't happen. if it did no one would use hrt. ::) testicles may atrophy however (although i never noticed any shrinkage), but if you take hcg intermittently it's minimized and if cycled all side effects reverse when you go off the drug--and a return to normal size can be accelerated with hcg post-cycle as well.

there's no way anyone can do squats three times a week. not at max intensity anyway. i work legs once a week and have been sore for up to 10 days before.
