yeah I agree----also a game of patience and strategy, nothing like watching a great hitter face a great pitcher and watch the mental game they play with each other

What do you make of the Catcher as he kneels down and do you also like focusing on the Pitcher between plays?
-
fake. But i had a friend in HS that would play baseball with no glove. :o The secret is to catch the ball with your finger tips.

Sports fans will believe anything they see. :D

Yeah, if you want to break your finger tips. :P
I used to practice without my glove pretty often if someone else was missing their's. The "catch'n'spin" was a funny sight but it worked from keeping your hands from breaking. In the outfield we'd get real bored and try to catch pop flies way over our head by flinging our hats. Once in a blue moon you snag one out of the air, but what happened most of the time was just straight catching them with our hats. Practice was a million times better than actual games.

I don't think she realized what happened

It looks like there are two balls. ;D

I'm not a fan of baseball - but that shit was fucking cool!!! I second the comment on her blowing him due to current lack of brain damage!

Faker that jrod's "natural status".

A ball traveling at that velocity would clearly have dissipated its energy with greater force in his hand as he stopped its inertia so abruptly and with ease. The absorption of energy would have been considerable and his hand would be toast for a good while. I hope nobody is fooled by this video.
-
F'n awesome catch. I'm impressed and I don't watch baseball at all.
-
Impressive catch. Of course, the usual tiny weiners are doubting and coach is claiming to have some connection.
-
I guess Physics is not anyones strong suit here? eh?
-
Fucking fake, it's pretty obvious actually.
-
Damn, Eva Longoria chaged a lot since i last saw her.

they didnt even bother to edit out the ball that was actually hit sailing off to the right from the bat.
-

lol. the moron meter is off the chart at Getbig.
firstly we have a game called cricket where gloves arent worn at all for fielders- AND the ball is harder than a baseball.
secondly if you believe that video was real then you've earned your lifetime membership at getbig...and you are probably a member of the GH15 fanclub to boot.
-
Fake but cool anyway 8)
-
jay could do that too

Epic.
PS. I wonder how many bugs he has accidentally inhaled in his career.
-
lol so fake, does no one notice the ball NOT sailing directly towards first base?
My idiot meter is off the charts on this site...

That's not real. Just great viral internet marketing.
If you google it, GILLETTE is all over it.

There has to be a past time designed for the skinny tall negroes so they don't go shooting all the time.

Right, okay maybe I'm a bit slow here but can someone explain to me why it's fake and how they faked it?
Camera trick?

1. are they taking batting practice at night after a game?
2. batting practice without a cage behind them? never seen it done, especially in the big leagues
3. they dont have reporters on the field during bp.
4. there is nobody in the stands
5. if you look close you can see the ball go strait off the bat then make a dramatic turn towards first, defying the laws of gravity.
So what exactly are they doing out there at night? -faking a video
-
I guess Physics is not anyones strong suit here? eh?
It looks fake, but your arguments are biological, not related to physics. Are you aware that people "catch" baseballs using a relatively thin leather glove? Oh, you aren't? Maybe you should turn to your pal wikipedia "Wikidudeman". ;)

The stadium in Tampa bay is a dome genius. The ball will change direction depending on the spin of the ball off the bat, just like a slider breaks depending on the spin the pitcher gives it. A lot more going on than just gravity.
Master Blaster makes a great point also, I guess not many people here have played baseball, we know Adonis was too busy with his ballet classes.

Unbelievable

That was amazing. Some guys have skills.
-
You can even see that the real ball that's hit gets line drived out towards center, then the CGI ball gets put into play... just watch it closely at the bat. Still cool though.
-

Stick to copy and paste from Google you moron

The direction of the ball off the bat is decided on how 'deep' the ball is. If a right handed batter hits a ball to left, he swung early enough to get his bat head in front. If a right handed batter hits a ball to right field he swung later and let the ball come closer to the plate.
The spin of the ball will only have an effect after it has traveled some distance, which is minimal anyways. Maybe I shouldn't have used the word gravity but a ball just doesnt change directions like that did. Your reference to a slider is a bit off, but thats another discussion.
maybe this helps.
