Anyone know a super way of finding dirtbags that take off to avoid getting serviced paperwork? I have been looking for someone for 6 months now and can't find them. Had 2 professionals on them as well and they haven't found fuckall, but I don't think they are trying very hard.
Anyone have any ideas?

Do the debtors have enough money to make it worthwhile to pursue them?...or do you want just to make them miserable?...
-
Sometimes people disappear, sometimes it's better not to find them, you never know what you'll dig up.

No, but I want to make their life hell (they went out of their way to do 10K+ damage to a rental property). They own thousands to the county for fines, restitution, etc anyway.
I put a less than 1% chance I ever get paid, but at least if you get a judgement in court you have a remote possibility of getting paid down the road.

well if they own any property that you can find (real estate) slap a fucking lien on the house

If they had a house they wouldn't have been in my rental.
They are basically transients that lied their way in on me.

DON"T underestimate anyone. Just cuz they rented from you, doesn't mean they don't own anything. Example, they found someone to rent their property and could make some extra cash from them paying rent. Trust me dude, I've seen this happen.
If you want, send me a pm with their names and where they used to live. I've been known to find little fuckwits that skip out on rent and doing damage to real property

I rented my condo to a young lady recommended by "friends" as a good tenant...She seemed Heaven sent,...worked in a law office,...presented a quiet, personable appearance, a fitness athlete...who became a cocaine addict the very month she moved in, with a number of unfixed tom cats...
Tried to trace her, only had her cell phone number,...tried to file bad check charges,...the amount was just under the level where the county would take action,...they said I would have to do civil action...by all means get a judgement...but it will be ashes in your mouth.
I suspect an experienced confidence trickster.

Ya I have two judgements from other former tenants over the years, and have never seen a cent back from thousands of dollars of damage. You'd think after a certian amount of damage is done to a property the district attorney would do something... but like you, they just told me it was a civil matter. Civil court is useless.

Were they Mexicans?

Do an asset search with an investigative firm that does similar forensic accounting work for complex white collar litigation, hire a PI or sue them in civil court-- if they never show up, the judgement is enforceable against all future assets they have in the state (and should be entitled to full faith and credit in other states). Maybe a freedom of information act request?
If you live in Europe, I have no idea what you should do. My suggestion is that you randomly target immigrants from middle eastern countries to beat up until you feel satisfied. That always cheers me up.

It sounds as if the money/effort expenditure would be greater than probable recovery. Also, if you don't know their real identity, you have a devil of a time getting into civil court, which was my main problem,...I only knew my tenant's alias...
Which comes down to having to do what a REIT has to do for prospective tenants.

A REIT does about as much investigating of tenants as BPT (stock symbol) does of producing oil. It's just a means of funneling money to and from investors.

Civil court action is in the process, the issue is finding them to serve the paperwork.
If someone never gets served the papers, they can just use the 'I didn't know" defense.

True, but there is a SOL on moving to have a judgement overturned because of lack of notice. Also, if you go the extra mile and go through the laundry list of ways to serve ( in person, to agent, by mail, by publication, etc.) and the deadbeat tries to plead ignorance, no judge is going to buy it.
Happy hunting.

Publication isn't valid in CA. as far as the others, I need to know where someone is to do them. As long as someone leaves town, it's really hard to find them to get them served.

10K is a lot of damages? Was the damage deliberate?

They turned the unit into a homeless camp and left over 4 and a half tons of trash in and around the property.
I had to have a HAZMAT crew come in due to large amounts of human waste and drug residues.
