Title: To all those that 'talk to god' all the time...
Post by: Captain Equipoise on May 18, 2011, 07:40:53 PM
I wonder if you've ever noticed it's always a one sided conversation? LOL

I thought about this after watching a youtube video of a little kid talking to his imaginary friend :)

I hear Him audibly and he said to say Hi to Captain Equipose!

Nah, I've never heard Him audibly, but I do feel Him impressing things upon my heart. :)

When the spirit of God washes over you like a flood during a private moment of prayer denying his existance becomes futile.  I pray others can open their hearts and allow God to perform a wonderful work in their hearts.  Butterbean is very correct.  No one-on-one, audible conversation; although, he does impress things upon my heart and has completely changed me.   A complete change in the core of who I am, how I act, how I respond to others/situations/stress/etc....is a change whose source is simply beyond me.  I take no credit for it as I have done nothing....all glory goes to God.  He does his greatest work with a humble heart.

At times like these I feel something like goosebumps but not exactly the same.  Pretty awesome.

Yes, exactly....it's like a warm, full body tingling LOL!  It's absolute tangible proof and validates the power of the name of Jesus.  Unfortunately, most nonbelievers find explanations such as this as some form of insanity or a side effect of a drug-induced state.

I cannot for the life of me even grasp at what that would feel like. Yes, something like drugs. Evidence shows that many drug related experiences are identical in terms of brain activity to religious ones.

I should have qualified that by saying, if I did certain drugs...and so on and so forth.

You are correct and I have heard of studies like that, but unfortunately I can't add anything to the conversation.  I'll have to add that to my "to-do" study list LOL!!
