Title: External Hard Drive question
Post by: ManBearPig... on May 21, 2011, 05:50:59 PM
I have a question,

let's say i get a hard drive and want to run, oh quickbooks on it.

if i install quickbooks on the external hard drive and save company files on it, do i have to have quickbooks installed on every computer i plug the hard drive into or is the external hard drive installation enough?

thanks, studs.

(by quickbooks i mean image viewing software for gay sex)

Depends, alot of programs have lite or mobile versions that dont need any registry links to run, in which case yes, or you can download a cracked version which may run, only way to find out is to download it and run.Typically the more complex the program gets, the more it needs to access common files etc then less likely its going to run.

i have the program, i'm not looking to steal anything, i'm just looking for portability.  can't these "registry links" you speak of be saved on the external hard drive?

Yes, but unless your using an unsecured computer with the same OS you wont get anywhere, plus getting every registry link a program creates is a bitch.

Quickbooks for DOS will do it.

You will have to convert the app as a portable app or you will have to install on every computer you use.
