Soft target.

That certainly looks to be completely uncalled for. Sounded like the cops were saying he assaulted them so we'll have to see how this pans out.

Seems like he had it coming.

He was in a wheelchair... ???
-
On the surface... The guy is in a wheel chair and it seems totally unnecessary.
However, as the idiot who narrated e video said, we don't have all the info. What led the police to feel they had to slam him to the ground? How can we make a judgment based on a clip that only show a few seconds? Etc.
I would like to see the entire clip before I judge this.

A one-minute long youtube video of some dude talking about an incident? LOL. That's what passing as fact these days? I'd hate to see your school papers. :-\

Yeah but he had a mean look on his face. Cops were justified.

Agree.

If the guy did not have a gun, knife, or dangerous weapon or was throwing stuff, the cops just hooked the taxpayer on to a huge lawsuit and settlement.
Again - look at this from the taxpayers viewpoint, not the cop. The idiot thug cop is not getting sued - the taxpayer is since the taxpayers are on the hook for this.

Did you find out what happened?

Sorry, we can't dictate who we arrest based on the potential for a lawsuit. Like I said, having worked the street, the last thing a cop wants to do is arrest someone in a wheel chair. It's a PR nightmare because people like you will automatically side with the guy in the wheel chair without having all the facts. Then you have to make arrangements to have the wheel chair which weighs quite a bit, impounded. So knowing what I know, based on years of experience, they likely exhausted other means before having to take the guy to the ground. He was obviously resisting, unknown what weapons he had available, you have to get him under control fast. In the future, to avoid getting his face planted when they take him to the ground, he might consider cooperating.
