I've always wanted a Colombian Red Tailed Boa Constrictor...but, due to certain "issues", chances are I will never own one...
1) Snakes scare pussy away. Once they find out you have a snake, they bolt for the door...
2) I'm black...only freaky ass, weirdo/hippie black chicks are okay with snakes.
Anybody ever had a snake or kept reptiles or amphibians?

It may be unfair, but it seems like a lot of people think that people that keep snakes are weird.
-
NOW THAT`S UNFAIR!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D

For me it's more an issue of feeding.

anyone who loves animals and had a lot of pets has usually owned one at one point or at least considered it.
i had a california rosy boa when i was a kid and didn't enjoy it at all. snakes are lousy pets and really only for show. a snake isn't fuzzy or cuddly, can't do tricks, can't serve a purpose (pest control, guard ability, stress relief), can't be a companion, can't communicate, high maintenance, can be expensive and difficult to keep. of course, ANY pet can be some of these things but a snake is all of them so there really is no good reason to have a snake as a pet unless you're one of those people who just have to be 'different,' who i can't stand. even a beautiful tank of fish is at least decorative and a stress relief.

When we were kids, my brother and I kept moorish geckos, european and north american tree frogs, a garter snake, a corn snake and a chilean rose turantula. Our mum loved the house being full of escaped crickets and pinkies in the freezer.
Don't keep anything now as I'm away too much and as you said, they are vagina repellant.
Do watch this blokes youtube channel, though:

This is a great fish tank! Reminds me of "The Shire."
