How did you learn to squat, deadlift, bench? You always see people talking about splits, sets/reps, exercise selection, etc. etc. but no one ever talks about technique (at least in the bodybuilding world).
-
Watched someone do it then just copied them. My technique form get better as I lifted more.
Then sometimes I use sloppier form because I find it works better.

A powerlifter named John Pezotte taught me how to lift when I was younger.
He benched 510 officially,squatted 650,and deadlifted 650 back in 1974.

Trial and error for the most part. When I got a bit stronger and was comfortable, I asked other real lifters and coaches to correct anything that was sloppy or could be done better. Within reason, I think one of the best things you can do starting out, is not worry about coach xzy, or lifting technique abc, just buy a barbell an screw around with it.

started at a small gym, the owner would watch you and correct your technique, then went to an olympic lifting club and had a coach

My high school coach when I first started training. To this day he's one of the few coaches who knew proper technique. 30 years after graduating HS, we still keep in touch.

i notice the more trainings experience i get the better i know how to work the muscles the better the results are, the begin years all i did was getting the weight up and down.
some reps i do sloppy on purpose to do a heavier weight but in that same set i can change from the sloppy form to a lower weight and to using a perfect technique and sqeezing.
