Title: Anyone here have a sugar glider?
Post by: tweeter on May 26, 2011, 06:05:56 PM
I'm thinking about getting a couple sugar gliders from a girl that is selling them. They supposedly make cool pets. Has anyone here had one or know anyone that has?

It's actually a type of possum; they are native to Australia.

The one creature that I might find more disgusting than rats...Wow.

We have plenty of possum here in they bay area, come help yourself!

They run along the electrical wires at night and sometimes drip drool on my fucking head when I am out jogging. It's happened twice now. They run and drool at the same time, disgusting fucking creatures.

I don't typically like possums either, but I think these guys look pretty cool. They are a lot smaller than an American possum too...about the size of chipmunk.

Natural habitat is quickly disappearing.

I had 4 sugar gliders with my last gf, all bred in captivity.

They eat bugs, worms, fruits, veggies, cream cheese, yogurt, honey.

One of them used to sit on the headstock of my guitar while I practiced.

No, you can actually see the drool coming out of their mouths. It's disgusting.

what a world we live in...hey let's import some dying rare animal specie from their jungles to make myself feel less lonely in my shitty small flat in the suburbs of some random megacity. It's very easy they re small and can be sent by mail ! Just have to order it from the internet!

Why not simply adopt a cat or dog then? oh yeah, let me guess not trendy enough, it's "for old people" right?  ::)

I've always wanted a pet squirrel but they are illegal to own in Georgia, so I don't know where I could find one. Plus they don't adapt as well to domestication as sugar gliders.
Where my folks are, they (Grey Squirrels) have adapted quite well to Cayenne Pepper in flower pots...

I've always wonder about their perception and or brain quickness, as they make those herky-jerky movements, whether it be looking for something or when a car is coming, yet run when a dog comes...

Rodents kept as pets are odoriferous if you are less than meticulous...

Most getbiggers are much more 'odoriferous' themselves..
