Why didn't he ever step onto the Olympia stage again?
Because he would have got slaughtered, his muscle is bloofy not grainy hard and has never been shredded.

Iron Disciple APPROVES !!
Hate Vic all you want, but his physique looks a hell of a lot better than some of the fucks steppin' on stage today ! FACT !

In all the pics he seems to have that thick skin going on + some mayor water retention....But bodyfat % in singles.

Wasn't he the one that ate over 10.000 cals a day or what ?
And got his Pro card by winning the mister Timbuktu or something ?

I totally disagree with this,,,his physique is amazing...he just didn't have the drive probably to maintain the training....he could probably do it in spurts but didn't have the discipline long term
-
One of the thickest bodybuilder i ever seen
He's pretty much complete and had the size, the definition, but i never seen him with real deep cuts i mean after all some striation showing up isn't enough...
-

i disagree with this, he couldnt hack the 90's ripped to the bone diet and didnt have the confidence to go against the best, was just happy to stay big and do seminars etc
-
kinda like a black Gary strydom awesome from the front and sides and loses it from the back.
Vic's lats were very high and Haney would have schooled him on a pro stage.

What part do you disagree with, that he has never been contest ripped or that he would get slaughtered. I think he has an amazing physique, but Ive been to 100's of bodybuilding shows and I've seen literally thousand of jacked bodybuilders, stupid big, 20 inch arms plus, but they come in smooth every show, hence they never win. enormous bodybuilders are a dime a dozen, ripped to bones are rare, the 90's everybody was striated, and very rare to find a pick of Vic with any striations and veins only in his arms, 2 weeks out Dennis James pic slaughters any victor pic and come contest totally different physique, who's to say he wouldn't lose a lot of size in the last adjustments of contest prep. To many factors to consider to say he would do good on the Olympia stage.

Great pics ND.......thanks!

1994 FiBO:

He was owning Yates on that video!

One day I am going to post the picture of Greg Kovacs where he is 440 lbs and not fat, taken when he achieved his greatest bodyweight ever around 2001 and then you guys will forget Richards, Coleman 2003, Jean-Pierre Fux in his prime, and other monsters. In this picture, Kovacs is 153 lbs heavier than Coleman was at the 2003 Olympia and still had average bodyfat. I just need to find the MuscleMag issue where it is(I have more than 1,000 issues of bodybuilding mags stored, so finding it is quite hard), and then I will post it. Kovacs was shit as a bodybuilder, but I think the I.F.B.B should have made an exception in his case and rewarded him more than they did because his muscular size was so super-human it deserved acknowledgement...

You and gorillas ! Lol ! Hell, Kovacs WAS a gorilla at that weight ! LOL ! I think your search is over, my friend !

Yeah ive watched that, if he had manned up and taken the challenge set to him by Coen it would have been atleast credible!

SUCKMYMUSCLE
This guy suckmy muscle always writes some messed up stuff but kovacks at his prime was a sight that can never be duplicated, I can remember clear as day, nothing compares to him. Prior to him I had seen Yates, dillet, Nasser, and Gunter and kovack was in a category of his own, not from a bodybuilders perspective, but from sheer size, his dimensions, his circumference, width and everything, truly unbelievable.... I remember some guy pulled out a digital (when they first came out lol) and kovacs jumps on the scale at 365 and some visible striations in his chest 6% tops,... 2000 or 2001.

I think you and I are basically saying the same thing..we just put it differently..he didn't have the discipline to come in dry and striated.....we agree now? ;)..I think he loved the training part and loved being huge but he just didn't ant to do the dieting and drying out part which in the 90's meant he had to use tons of diuretics and suffer through not eating which only the the very hardcore can do....many just don't have the mind-power or will to do this and I think he was one of those
shit, I suffer greatly just trying to diet for one day :)

This is correct, glad we agree. The foundation to do damage is there, like winning the first round, but there still is round 2. This single point about going the distance and sufferring while dieting that only the hardcore can muster is the only thing keeping the sport respectable. It's not that I don't respect Vic, it's just Haney, yates, coleman, etc deserve way more respect
-
Dat niggah is a twink.
Does he even work out?
-
He does not like the politics. He thinks the athletes are used by the powers that be, spit out and left on the street- like boxing, but worse. He has too much self respect to do that to himself.
-

you make an excellent point that I never thought of in terms of the dieting aspect keeping the sport respectable.....but let me ask you....why do BB'ers HAVE to come in so dried and shredded???...do you think that maybe the suffering endured is needless and unnecessary???....why can't a guy like Vic Richards be able to get on stage and compete just because he is a big mofo with a symmetrical and pleasing physique???
why must we and the professional BB'ers try to aspire to the most extreme examples of the sport?....it really doesn't make sense because these guys can only hold that extreme conditioning for a few hours anyway...its not a true indication or example of what bodybuilding is....I would prefer for a guy like Vic to be able to compete with his body as it is which is pretty awesome without the extreme dieting, diuretics, synthol, insulin etc that now dominates the sport......
Also looking at Vic's old pics and also the pics of guys like Arnold, in general, they look so much more healthy than the guys today..and its attainable.....you don't have to use the insane stacks being used today
-
Kovacs - lol
(http://i442.photobucket.com/albums/qq145/bianconero8/kovacs2.jpg)
I once saw someone actually using a fake tape measure..inch was 2 cms..
-
did vic ever do a pro-show,i know he won some nat. contest in a smaller country to get his pro-card,but did he ever step onstage as a pro.
-
wow that was before tren
-
Few rare shots there thanks ND the ones below are new to me :o :o :o :o :o i met Vic @ a seminar in P.North NZ in 1994 he came across as a Humble qiuetly spoken bloke, i kid you not his Arms and Quads were absolutely MASSIVE he had on a Tight white tshirt, bandanna and those Crazy Spandex tights that were still in back then he said he was 315-320lbs, i have no idea how big those arms and quads were but ive never seen that sort of Raw massive thick muscle to this day guy was Awesome.
-
Bullshit. Richards doesnt do g4$.
-
Also notice that he could pull a vacuum, and he had some pretty big calves as well.
-
Cool photos. I worked in a booth next to Vic at a trade show in 90's, he's a pretty cool cat. Even if he does habitually refer to himself in the third person.
He's one of the few guys that could hold on to that kind of size and not look like a bloated unhealthy piece of shit.
-
1 of the pictures i took of him onstage guest posing 1994 NZ
-
huge arms and legs
-
I met Kovacs in 1995 at the NPC Southern States contest............he was fucking humongous and seemed like a really good dude.
He did fuck up his physique bigtime though.
Looking good and being huge are two complete different things.
-
huge arms and legs
And then some you hear quiet often people saying "pictures dont do him justice" when it came to Arms, Quads and Chest Victors were absolutely Massive in Person back in the Day.
-
A buddy of mine told me that back in the day he attended a Vic Richards seminar and during the seminar Vic ate a whole box of 24 Multi-Pro bars while talking to people.

If those were the Protein bars Wes with the black stripe and gold writing down them....he was Wolfing down the same bars in 94....and alot of them @ that;D ;D ;D

Apparently hes a huge fan of rice. Eats tons of it.

Must`ve been his secret to getting huge!!!
rushes out to order 5 cases ;D
-
A picture of him when he was real young.
-
Massive G (from Chad's board) told a story about him seeing Vic get weighed right in front of him, and he weighed something like 290 and was damn near contest ready (IIRC).
No matter what anyone says, Vic had an unreal physique and the genetics to respond to all of the "supps" without looking like a bloated mess.
I know he didn't compete in any large competition, and that causes many people to question what he would have looked like had he dieted down. No matter what one's argument is, Vic was holding onto and maintaining a 300 lb. physique long before anyone else was close to that mark in that condition.
I have heard stories that Ray Mentzer (who hated competing) had been up to a relatively lean 290 at one point, but his health may have suffered from getting that large, as his kidneys ultimately failed.
-
bill grant said vic was the biggest bodybuilder hes ever seen, and bills seen all of em. then again he said this back in 96, i asked if he was bigger then yates and bill said absolutely. i know yates was better on stage but thats a different story
-
I saw Bill Grant at last year's AOBS dinner in Newark, New Jersey, and he was dating Heather Darling (Big Heather D).
I had a good talk with him, and I think he was very under-rated. Shame he could never develop calves. Back then, you had to have calves and forearms to score well. Not so much any more.

OR, he can't get ripped enough and his ego can't take losing to smaller but better-conditioned competitors. Rich Gaspari claimed that, when he beat Richards in a local show, Richards threw a fit and smashed his trophy.
Richards claimed that the "powers-that-be" conspired against him in the NPC, which is why he went to Nigeria and won their (relatively-speaking) podunk national championship to turn pro. Despite getting a Weider contract, Richards never stepped foot on stage. And, a number of the pros got tired of his running his mouth but not backing it up onstage.

correct, great physique, but if you can't get shredded?
-
George Farah could get him shredded.
