Title: Need advice from the computer geeks on here & about SquareTrade Warranty please
Post by: myt1 on June 06, 2011, 05:48:00 PM
I need some help with picking a good laptop for business/ personal use and have what I want narrowed down but have found different versions.

One has bluetooth capability and a bluray dvd for $891, and the other is $750 with everything else the same but no bluray player, and it is not bluetooth enabled.

So my questions are:

1) Is the price difference worth it?

2) WTF does bluetooth enable you to do on a laptop anyway?  I understand that on my phone it allows me to use an earbud, but I don't get what it would allow me to do on a computer.

3) What is WiDi vs. WiFi?

4) If you were trying to set up a great home office network that also had a great home entertainment component to it using a router and an external hard drive as a server....what router and hard drive would you get?  (Keep budget of a normal person in mind, not that of a normal GetBigger  ;)  )

Thanks for any help in advance!

The new ones with the 'snap' window feature only allow you to watch two porn vids at a time, wheres as the older ones you could squeeze three vids on  the screen at a time.
At three jerk sessions a day, thats an extra +-21 porn clips you can watch in a week with the older operating system.

my laptop at work has bluetooth.

i haven't used it, but i think it's like a wireless connection to your bluetooth phone; for file transfers.

or for porn.

This is the one I'm looking at
http://www.amazon.com/HP-Pavilio-DV7-4276NR-Notebook-Pc/dp/B004G5ZSWU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1307405205&sr=8-1

I told the local store today that Best Buy had a version without the Wi/Di, Bluetooth, and Bluray that theirs had for 749 and he said he'd try to match it.  Called him on my way to the gym, and he said he got the o.k. for $819.  With tax here it still comes out $10 cheaper than Amazon, and I called Square trade to see if I could get the 3 year warranty and accident protection str8 from them.  They said yes, and it's only 179 vs. 199 from Amazon. ;D

Has anyone ever used Square Trade warranty and accident protection plan b4?  Thoughts???
