Last time I checked, Romney was ahead of Obama 49-46 in a ABC/Washington Post poll.
When your lead candidate is Obama and he's a 47% approval, LESS THAN TWO MONTHS after killing Bin Laden, the sandwich part falls on the Democrat side of the house.

There is this fascination with republicans to blame the president for job trends. The reality is the market dictates the employment rate. The only employment the government can control is the employment of government workers. That is what they can control. Tax breaks to companies mean nothing if the market is not there is sustain the jobs, you don't hire someone just because you got a tax break. You hire someone when there is work for them. If you don't have work for someone you'll say thanks for the break and pocket the money.
Until the market dictates, unemployment will continue to stay stagnant. Or until unemployed people decide that the job at the local 7/11 is better than no job at all.
Simple as that.

His overall approval rating is under 50%, which is usually NOT GOOD NEWS for a sitting president, especially one that was once touted as unbeatable after Bin Laden's death.
Not to mention the polls that have him either tied or LOSING to a generic Republican candidate.
That is a major problem.

You would think it would be in the low 30's but it simply isn't there and I think its due to public exhaustion of all the rhetoric that the GOP has been piling on. They've done it for so long that people are pretty much ignoring it at this point.
