My theory - based on years of observations - is that the female body (in many cases) is able to do 'more' with an equivalent amount of test than many male bodies can.

Agreed. I also think that some of these she-males train much harder than their male counterparts. Esp. in the legs. Child bearing has to have something to do with the amount of pain a women can take.

Because both men and women have androgen receptors in their larynxes that regulate how deep their voices will be and there is a limit to how low your voice becomes in response to androgens, and in the males this is maxed out during adolescence when natural androgens are produced in great amounts and further taking androgens does not deepen the voice further. But women have often much less androgens than required to stimulate their larynx receptors, so when they take androgens their voices deepen like those of males during adolescence.

As for the voice I am guessing a female's voice is high pitched to begin with making the voice change more apparent. Even after their voice changes it's still not as deep as a typical male. My voice becomes deep like darth vader or that russian dude from 2012 when I have a nasty cold / throat infection. Makes me sound 20 feet tall!
