Title: Can I get reparations?

My ancestors were virtual slaves.  

They lived a horrible life, they didn't earn any cash.  They were isolated in the mountains, no education, lived in shacks.

Can I get reparations for this?  These people were only three generations back.

My family owned three slaves back in the day in Carolina. Doesn't the gubment at least own me a new tractor to make up for the loss my family took when ol' Lincoln gave them their walking papers and welfare promise?

(No Racist) Were slaves expensive?  I have a will from Virginia of a 4th, 5th or 6th great grandfather leaving four slaves to his son. (No Racist)

From what I understand they were extremely expensive.  Plus, you had to feed them, cloth them and keep them in grape soda or else they would completely go south on you.

In all seriousness though, whites that had slaves should have gotten repaid for them. They were private property that was taken away by the government.

But hey, aren't we all paying for them into perpetuity anyway?
