Post by: Benny B on June 28, 2011, 11:02:19 PM
Howard Cosell interviews Muhammad Ali on Monday Night Football, November 4, 1974. Ali had defeated Foreman and reclaimed the Heavyweight Championship of the World earlier that year. Muhammad Ali left the Nation of Islam shortly after this interview.

Cossell was fantastic, large ego and all. He MADE Monday Night Football into a must-see event each week due to his personality and unique brand of charisma.

Cossell and Ali fed off of each other as well as any of the great comedy duos of modern entertainment.

It was pathetic that when Cosell was bashed for being a "racist" for the whole "look at that monkey run comment" Ali didn't step up and defend him, unlike during Ali's vietnam stuff and Cosell went to bat for him a number of times.

"The Showstoppa" comes to support Cossell's RACIST comment...what a surprise!  ::)
Hell no Ali wasn't going to back him up for that inflammatory comment, you fucking idiot.

Jesus, you're an idiot. He said "look at that little monkey run", about Mike Adamle, a WHITE running back during a Hall of Fame game in 1972. Many people have said that he called his own grandchildren "little monkeys". So, once again, you run your mouth without knowing what the fuck you're talking about. And yes. your hero Ali never made any "inflammatory" remarks about race. ::)

Benny proves time and time again that, no matter which forum he posts in, he's incapable of having a civil conversation.

Mass, you said everything, so I won't even bother with Sambo Blanco.   Anybody who really knew anything about the issues involved would understand, but he probably read some Farrakhan literature and now wants to break all bad..... ::)

Cosell was one of the ONLY reporters who stuck his neck out for Ali during the most combative time period in our nations history.  Yet when Ali could have diffused a silly situation with just a few comments, he chose not to.  It's not an opinion, it's simply fact.
