Slow movements don't help any athlete in any sport. Going slow with light weights is a big no-no

i think for a powerlifter yes....
bb not, slow and correct movements are good for hypertrophy.
and the article mentioned training every day, and overtraining not being an issue... i think that is bullshit.
i addopted a trainingstyle from a dude i knew years ago, Boris Kleine, 3 times a week, and 30 minutes.. thats it!
every 4th week a rest week....
works for me, i could not train every day man....

To each his own is what I say. Progressive overload is the name of the game. There are many bodybuilders with great physiques that train exclusively with heavy weights and lower reps. There are others that do higher reps and lighter weights and achieve great builds also.
Whatever keeps you going back is what is best for you.

Well, some of my weightlifter friends do train 5 days a week 2 times per day, not always heavy but they do some kind of squat movements every day and they all have HUGE legs for their size. But they all have fucked up joints and have to ice their knees after every workout ;D

Yop he made me a training program a few years ago but he is a very busy guy.

I think a lot of "personal trainers" are useless :)
But, for the general population, a normal tempo is fine. Training powerlifters or bodybuilders is a different story, but they would both have a completely different regimen to achieve the best results.

If you desire to build power, you better move DAMN fast. 3 mph doesn't cut it (max squat).

This is how you build up stabilizer muscles, slow twitch fibers, etc.
what do you propose?! to just throw the weight around with momentum?

No I am talking about the concentric part !
let's say you do bench press, I am all for lowering the bar in a controled manner, but the pushing part should be done as fast as possible imo

Tell you what, maybe a few of you young turks can take this "max out everyday" routine for a test drive for a year, and come tell me how your knees/hips/ankles are doing. See if they aren't completely torn to shit.

2. Not really Alwyns thing, Nick not really his thing either, Cressy is a baseball guy and could careless about other powerlifting gyms or there methods. I don't know Nick, I read some his stuff, I do know (personally) Alwyn and Eric. Love what Alwyn writes and my wife follows Rachel (his wife)
