Title: Charlie Sheen needed Roids for "Major League"
Post by: Doug_Steele on June 29, 2011, 12:04:26 PM
If it seemed like Charlie Sheen had a little extra juice on his fastball during "Major League" ... it's because the actor pumped himself full of steroids to prepare for the role ... so says the Warlock.

Sheen -- who famously played fireballer Ricky "Wild Thing" Vaughn --  revealed his secret to Sports Illustrated, saying he went on the special sauce for "six to eight weeks" in the hopes of "enhancing [his] performance a little bit."

Sheen added, "You can print this, I don't give a f--k. My fastball went from 79 [mph] to like 85."

Wild Thing ... you make my balls shrink.

Those carnival radar guns point the gun when the ball almost hits the target. The real way of doing it is when it comes out of the throwing hand.

That's retarded, at that point it hasn't yet developed any speed, momentum or velocity.. that's like taking the speed of a car just as you hit the gas pedal

The horizontal velocity of a baseball is more or less constant regardless of what point of the flight path you measure it at, unless you're throwing into a stiff wind or something to that effect.

If the dolorean hits 85mph it creates a time variant thus rendering a hole in thenspace time continueum, u just need the 1.21 jigawatts to ceate the affect.......

I have read from several sources in the past that he could actually throw a fastball about 85 mph during filming, which is really good for an untrained amateur / actor.

This company suggests pointing the gun one foot from the release of the pitchers hand(right before it loses speed) ;)

Here's some interesting info on how radar guns are going to become obsolete

It's interesting how that theory only works with a delorean... not a ferrari, not a lamborghini, not even a formula one racecar... just a delorean..

Some pitchers have been clocked at 95mph right out of the hand and by the time it crosses the plate, it can drop almost 10mph

Absolutely correct.  You can see this if you watch the Pitch f/x data on mlb.com

The reason taller pitchers are usually much tougher to hit is because in a lot of instances their release point is closer to the plate. Sometimes over 3+ feet closer. For every foot closer to the plate, its around 2mph more of perceived velocity.  Not to mention if they throw "over the top" they produce much more of a downward ball.

Sheen nearly went Pro, he was trying to make it in to the MLB while Emilio, Rob Lowe, Sean Penn, Chris Penn,Tom Cruise and Robert Downey Jr, who were all friends growing up in Malibu broke in to Hollywood.

Well that's funny cause I am probably the only guy on this sight who actually played professional baseball , and there is no such thing as "nearly went pro". If you didnt get drafted you are another college frat boy wannabe or one of those fools living the dream trying to get drafted paying in some adult league wish washed up illegal immigrants who couldnt get drafted. Bodybuilding and baseball are actually quite similar ;D

His star is fading, his goddess' are gone and he no longer has a TV show or any possible income to bang his 7g rocks. He's labeled a nutjob and steroids are the "in thing" to talk about right now.

Hope you were good at jigsaw puzzles as a kid, doesn't take too much intellect to figure this one out.
