I love movies that stay with you after seeing them, movies that make you think about your own life.
you guys have one? and how did it affected you?
-
American Beauty. Jerking off was much better to Mena
(http://images.phun.org/phun/galleries/naked_celebrities/mena_suvari.jpg)
-
Fight Club
-
"Breast Monsters from Jupiter".
I've been trying to get it ever since Al Bundy mentioned it as one of his favourites..
-
The Matrix with Vanilla Sky in a close 2nd.
-
Good mentions so far.
One movie that didn't change my life per se, but is still the coolest movie I ever watched in my life; Jurassic Park. I was around 10 at the time.
As for movies actually changing life you could say that Kickboxer and Dragon heavily influenced me getting into martial arts which has evolved into my fitness interest. But that seed was already planted at much younger age watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-movies to be honest.
-
The Matrix
-
Gang Bang 5
-
Fight Club
x 2
Plus some other german speaking movies noone knows on here.
-
the white buffalo, it haunts my dreams every night.

Insane artwork.
-
Pumping Iron 2 Rachel McLish boyfriend dancing in the strip club = priceless
-
Jaws. Changed my life forever.
good one i think about it everytime i set foot in the ocean. first the bump than the bite. this is truly a think for night terrors.
-
Into the Wild.
Though the movie was made with too much drama, the -true- story behind it is inspiring; make a radical change by leaving everything behind in your comfort zone and rediscover who you are and what really matters.
-
Gang Bang 5
lol

I own the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. Besides the nostalgia factor, it's still entertaining to this day. Elias Koteas as "Casey Jones" is hilarious. For example:
Donatello: You're a claustrophobic.
Casey Jones: You want a fist in the mouth? I've never even looked at another guy.
-
probably pumping iron. thought it would be the obvious answer on this site.
didn't change my life forever but definitely affected me cause i was young when i saw it and thought it was awesome. :)
-
"Couldn't stand the paperwork."
"Ya Can't make a move without a form."
-
The Matrix with Vanilla Sky in a close 2nd.
Vanilla Sky was one of the worst movies in the history of cinema. Simply terrible.
-
Brunettes do it better.
a peter north film.
-
Commando, because I started lifting after seeing Arnie in it for the first time.
The Fountainhead - maybe not the movie so much, but the book definitely, for the concepts in it and characterization of Howard Roark & Gail Wynand.
And any movie where the underdog wins in the end after getting beat down by life hard - like Hidalgo and Cinderalla Man. Not life changing, but inspiring / gives you hope.

What happened, you fell in love with Peter North? You permanently chaffed your dick from steadily jerking off to this? You realized VHS tapes can only be played a certain # of times before the tape snaps? You discovered how babies were made?
How did it change your life forever?
-
What they said.
-
All kidding aside, this movie changed my life. Was all ready to enlist, then saw this movie, and decided to go back to school:
Thin Red Line
Why did you change your mind?

Yes!!! nice choice kiwi
for me, I'd have to say Titanic.. because it made me realize what the fuck am I doing wasting 2 hours of my time on this shit, that was a life changing epiphany.
It also made me realize if you fall asleep during a movie more then twice, it's probably not a very good movie.

I wasn't a fan of the gay roll that actor Mike Katz played. I thought it was to soon.

Jaws probably fucked with more people than any movie in history. it came out in 1975 and to this very day the flashbacks cross the minds of millions of people everytime they set foot in the ocean.
-
Jaws
Predator
Rocky 3
Matrix
Fight Club
Big Trouble in Little China
John Candy in any movie...
Chris Nolan's The Dark Night was inspiring. The first main stream movie that I thought was also a piece of artwork. Observe and Report was also nicely done.

I realized brunettes do in fact, do it better.
-
Don't laugh guys but for me it was 'Twins' I just wanted to be Arnold so bad, the nice muscular guy from a foreign place who gets the American girl. (kinda how it really played out for me in the end LOL)
-
Honourable mention:
-
bladerunner
escape from new york
...tip of a pretty large iceberg.
oh, and babyface (first porn film i saw, 12 ish years old).
-
Office Space
-
Honourable mention:
This movie for me did it. It's probably really the only movie that has altered my life in a big way. I clicked with so much in that movie, it was over past that. The movie highlights perfectly what so many were going through and thinking at the right time. I've been self employed since then.

Hot Scandinavian chicks and some angry nazis are good ingredients for a film.
I saw a guy on tv complaining that the gov was only looking at culture from an economic point of view, but why was he in The Hague? ::)

Dead Snow was OK, but I like Outpost more, which is serious/creepy and based on the same theme (Nazi zombies).
-
-
Nazi zombies is an old theme:
Oasis Of The Zombies
Shockwaves
Zombie Lake
The movie that did it for me has to be "Milos And Otis" !
-
American Pie 1
because it made me realise that saying "Suck me, beautiful" doesn't work everytime 8)

Guess I won't poop the party with the no-single-movie-can-blah blah spiel. Playing along: Dead Poet Society. Fuck you, I was in my formative years and the girl next to me was blessed with, shall we say, accelerated maturity.

Breaking Away.
Not so much for the cheesy "underdog comes out on top" ending to the Little 500, but for the scene in the quarry where Dennis Quaid's character gets owned beyond belief (or as is now known, "has his Squadfather moment").

I will try to stay away from quoting bodybuilding - related movies/docummentaries, although it is gonna be hard not to relate to some of them for obvious reasons....afterall, we're all here! ;) I'll address this later...
To me, the movies that really changed my life forever was a combination of Goodfellas/Casino/Godfather trilogy.
Boy, I caught myself quoting Joe Pesci's lines ad eternum after watching those first 2 movies for millions of times - literally.
As a kid, all the 4 SUPERMAN movies with Christopher Reeve and E.T. have left a huge impression on my childhood years that lasted me throughout teenage and still to this day I have fond memories of those 2 movies - so much so that I have them in my collection and still watch them from time to time.
Larry Clarke's movies are hard not to make you give it some long and hard thought about life as it is nowadays. His movies are shocking - Kids, Bully, etc.....
Which brings me back to bodybuilding.....afteral l, the sport has totally changed our lives and constitute a big part of it. Without many inspirational videos and movies from the sport, I hardly doubt the vast majority of us would have undertook it as a lifestyle to most, and a carrer to very few.
In this token, the 2 absolute videos that changed my life forever are PUMPING IRON and BLOOD & GUTS.
Dorian's video thought me more lessons than a simple how-to-do training video could do. 8)
