Sarcasm has to have wit behind it to be valid.

Sarcasm has to have wit behind it to be valid.
From my experience on americans forums through out the years. that doesnt even matter.
guy in the video is Hillarious, and its obvious pretty damn fast, But no lol.
Is satire humor not common or even not existant in america? People may not know the funny aspect behind it?
-
I want to post that video on md while saying
"Why would he think god would help him there?!?!? Is this stupidity common??!?"
to prove my point ;D
that to me is Obvious sarcasm , since its Obvious god wont to shit and the video is hillarious,. but I could BET that most people would Not get in. ...on american forums ;D
And would result in a pretty funny troll thread lol
-
I love biting sarcastic humor. Obviouslly you have to be able to take it done to you also. Most people who get mad just arent smark or quick enough to dish it back out. I had someone ask if myself and a guy working for me were friends because of the way we were cutting on each other and the guy was my best friend! Even on Getbig, it blows my mind when people cant pick up the sarcasm in posts. Its like, "really? really?" Are you sopposed to note (sarcasm alert) because then the joke its ruined

example of what Im talking about:
Commenting on a jay cutler video over at rx, One guy comments
"That way too many sets for each bodypart!"
I respond
"Yes, Im sure cutler has no idea how it body works....."
Another guy responds to my post
"How can you say that when hes won multiple mr olympia?!?!"
And shit like that happends All the time lol.
I love "sacasm" humor, and I make people laugh All the time from it. I wonder if its more common in sweden then I think and not in america for some strange reason.. Ive never thought about it.. I know its common in england at least..

The real irony is that Jay Cutler actually has no clue whats he is doing despite the Mr. Olympia wins. ;D

im pretty sure he has tried low rep / medium / high though , and figured out what works best =)
I wonder if its a cultural thing. But america has had a Bunch of famous comedians. More so then most other countries, Havent really thought about if they did any satire though. But people should still "get it"
-
From what I have seen sarcasm is mostly a british thing. Most americans are pretty dry and like straight up haha funny, not haha and I am angling funny.

We have a population that does not read anymore. Sardonic wit is best conveyed in print and nobody is reading anymore. There are great writers still, just few great readers. OW MY BALLS is the easy way out and what most Americans find humorous.

I dont understand that.
Satire humor is to me at least By far most hillarious when its Performed/spoken..
And I would assume easier to "get" while looking at someone..
satire in text I would assume would be harder to get without body language and nothing.. Unless its in a humor magazine/comic that is
-
Despite that lack of understanding for satire humor, "Theonion" are absolutly HILLARIOUS. And they're americanos
;D
-
people in the comments are arguing about whether it's real or not ;D (some of them are trolling the retards, but its obviois not everyone "gets its" and thats fucking insane haha)
..and lets just assume they are americans lol
"Oh no spoiler no spoilers" ;D
So irony is that theonion is the funniest satire/sarcasm humor in a long time (?) and its american..
-
And mix in something war related and its even harder for "people" to "get it" ;D
look at the comments ;D
and especially before "everyone" knows the onion is satire lol.

I don`t consider that biting satire whatsoever as it is blatant and plays like a bad Saturday Night Live Comedy skit. In fact, the Onion is annoying in its over the top style. True satire and wit has to be subtle enough not to be noticed to the common observer.

Thats ofc an over the top video..
(and this one is also ofc obvious but Not to average americans lol)

I do agree some can be genius at an over the top level.

I like british humor a lot
I tell people IRL, if you don't know that I'm joking you're probably so dumb that I would want to insult you anyway.
so whether you take me seriously or know that I'm joking, either way you're right.
Mr. Nazzer always had the humor you speak ov.
-

I fucking love ed lol. Got his permission to post his vids on my site also, so all the way cool dude.

From what I have seen sarcasm is mostly a british thing. Most americans are pretty dry and like straight up haha funny, not haha and I am angling funny.
Corey Holcomb is sarcastic, but it's the cynicism that really gets you.
I used watched a Brit tv show called "Chef" and the main character was putting down a guy, he basically took a few minutes to do it, it lost it's zing when you take to long to deliver....
When a female coworker once had asked me, "How's it hanging?", I said, "To the left." a fun time was had by all.
a Brit might say, "Well, to what 'it' are you referring to? Are you referencing my lower region's head?"
in my early 20s I used to be very sarcastic, and my brother and sister and far, far worse, to the point that you think that they are not joking.
and then something, something...
-
black humor too

I almost had a heartattack since I had totally forgotten about it and people was Still beliving it ;D

if you met me in real life youd know that I bench 585 weigh 300 lbs and drink 3 jugs of milk a day all being able to run a 4 minute mile.
of course some one always has "an uncle" that can bench 500. my uncle benches 600.

One of the best jokes on The Simpsons is in Treehouse of Horror 3 episode, in the zombie segment called Dial Z for Zombies. The Simpson family have just survived the zombie outbreak and are watching tv with plank stares. This kind of dialogue takes place:
1st person (don't remember who): I'm glad we weren't turn into zombies.
2nd person (Bart?): Shhh, tv.
Homer: Man...fall down. Funny. (Without a hint of enjoyment)
Just brilliant.

FIRST AMERICAN TO GRASP SIGNIFICANCE OF IRONY - Jay Fullmer, 38, yesterday became the first American to get to grips with the concept of irony. "It was weird," Fullmer said. "I was in London and, like, talking to this guy and it was raining and he pulled a face and said, "Great weather, eh?" and I thought "Wait a minute, no way is it great weather." Fullmer then realised that the other man's 'mistake' was in fact deliberate.
Fullmer, who is 39 next month and married with two children, aged 8 and 3, plans to use irony himself in future. "I'm, like, using it all the time," he said. "Last weekend I was grilling steaks and I burned them to shit and I said "Hey, great weather!".
