I think to much economy and business is tied up to the Internet of western world for them to want to shut it down.

but if if they did, no getbig, crime rate would probably go up at the least. or maybe there will be a surprise and a return to the happy 80's again?

yeah good point about the buisnes, people would be fuckin up gov. buildings left and right i would guess

There were talks to give the US government that power but ironically the idea was scraped few weeks before it happened in Egypt.  Will try to find the article for you.

oh yes I remember reading about this.

and they changed it to the ability to redirect all ISPs traffic through a government site,  too only see gov. info and only reach sites they decide.

 after Egypt there was a follow up article on why this would be impossible to do in the US. Interesting stuff! Do you feel better now Falcon? LOL
